Had anyone recieved a waiver after having their medical marijuana card? What documents did you submit. I went to my Dr and they wrote me a letter stating it was for insomnia? I also surrendered my card back to the state. Is this enough? submitted by /u/Upstairs_Style9628 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Why was I not DQed at Meps?

Long story short I went through meps without any problems and just got my ship date for BMT, prior to going to meps I told my recruiter I went to therapy and had a diagnosis with generalized anxiety 4 years ago. I went to three sessions for the duration of two months over the phone. I was not given any medication. I’ve never heard anything since not have been back to any outpatient clinic. He told me to not say anything at meps and to only speak about it if it’s spoken to me. It was not brought up during my consultation with the doctor and I was cleared. Today I received a call from my recrui ..read more

Going to College to Commission as Active Duty

I am currently Active Duty, but I don't feel this question belongs on the Airforce reddit, so I decided to post it here instead. For those that are active duty and have gone to college and commissioned, what was the path that you took? I've heard of tips here and there, but what would be the most efficient and cost saving way? I've heard of switching to guard to get TA and then using the GI bill for a masters for example. With the question out of the way, below is my situation. TL;DR is at the bottom if you don't want to read my essay. Bum rushing my way to commissioning has really be on my m ..read more

hi guys was just wondering, i know that dissociation is a big disqualification for most military but i was just wondering… ive had a few mild cases in the past in highschool, about 4 years ago at its worst. i just felt very out of body and foggy and absent. i havent had any cases since those times but im worried that during bmt i will be out of it the whole time, is this rational to worry about and should i no longer consider enlisting? i plan on having a job in the medical or technical field so im not worried about any of those issues coming back during that time in the military. just mainly ..read more

Body fat percentage question

I checked my body fat percentage by using an online calculator, I know it’s not super accurate but my results put me in the obese category so I know I’m definitely not passing the standards at meps. I’m 5’2 140lbs, body fat is 41.3%. My recruiter measured my height wrong when I first went to his office, he put me down as 5’4 because my shoes gave me a couple extra inches. He also said I had about a 20lb window. I went to my local doctor a week ago and she measured me at 5’2 with no shoes. I don’t know if this matters. Do I ask my recruiter about this or do I just go ahead and go to meps witho ..read more

So this may sound silly but I would like to know what happens? Do you get another physical? I know you swear in again but what happens after that do you fill out more paperwork and what not or is it like you sit and wait around? submitted by /u/moetou [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Female Experience at BMT Please

Hello, I’m in my 30 day window, and was wondering if any females that recently got of out BMT could give any pointers or tips on what to bring and what not to bring. My family is all Air Force and my mom and sister have tried to help and tell me things. The only issue is times have changed since my mom went and my sister went during Covid so her experience will have been vastly different to what I will be going through as she never did the gas chamber. I’m more or less physically ready to go I guess. I’m still working on push-ups and running but I’m more confident in my running and sit-ups th ..read more
