Hello, Lincoln is currently 13 weeks, 30lbs. Believed to be an Anatolian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees(confirmed) mix. I usually give my dogs elk antlers. However, I need something for Lincoln and I don't know if antlers are a safe option for him being this young. He will always be supervised when given a chew, but I want to be on the safe side. Does anyone have any recommendation on chews for this age for him? I do not have issues with him chewing things mostly, but I just want... Chews for Puppy (13 weeks ..read more

Hello, I've been going through the forums, and found great information, but could use some personal guidance We've rescued Lincoln about a week ago. It all kind of happened pretty quickly, so I put him on Simply Nourish Original Large Breed Puppy dry to start out with. I went with this because I am currently feeding our older dog Simply Nourish, and it's been good for her. Now that I have had more time to look into what he should be eating, I am wondering if I should switch it up... Weighing Puppy food options - Giant Breed ..read more

On demand feeding

Both my dogs gobble their meals. One is a 10 yr golden doodle, the other mostly golden. When the doodle was younger I experimented with giving her cup after cup for one meal. She stopped after 6 cups. She suffered no discomfort that eve. I decided maybe, no. The other is 2 1/2 and eats even faster. They both have maze bowls. Does on demand eventually work with food motivated dogs, or do they just eat themselves into oblivion. Both dogs are normal weight... On demand feeding ..read more

Dog food WITHOUT fish

I have a dog that I’m pretty sure, after elimination trail, is sensitive to fish. I’m struggling to find food that doesn’t just exclude fish protein, but no fish oil as well. So far I have found these: -a couple of Honest Kitchen (she doesn’t do well on it and it is carb heavy) -one of Earthborn Holistic (haven’t tried, but not my favorite) -SmallBatch Pets Lightly Cooked (pricy, but willing to try it as part of her meal) My goal is to feed her 1/2 raw, or maybe cooked, 1/2 kibble... Orijen vs Royal Canin

I've been feeding my puppy Orijen pretty much since we brought him home (he started off on Eukanuba but we weaned him off that). At first he loved it but lately it's been very difficult getting him to eat it! We mix the dry kibble with a little bit of organic wet food to make it tastier but even that isn't working. Sam is pretty much eating 1/4 cup a day if were lucky and has already lost 2 lbs. Since he's 10 months old now, we've considered switching to another food. My vet recommended the... So, following on from my discovery that my dog hated his food so much he would rather puke than eat it (http://www.dogforums.com/dog-food-forum/103222-hur-hur-im-so.html : thanks everyone!), we've switched him over to Iams. It's about the best quality that we can afford right now, since we're under a lot of financial strain at the moment. Something I've noticed is it gives him lethal gas. I mean this stuff is DEADLY. Not exactly more frequent than usual, but stinkier. We've... Dog lets out deadly gas, thanks, Iams ..read more

But she started to feel better with her changed food brand, this is a good experience so i dont mind saying what brand it is, or how I found it...
