Good transmission price?

Mechanic offered me a transmission for a replacement in my 2012 AWD with 92,000 miles on it for $500 and said the labor will probably run me around $1,000. I’m fairly certain this is a good deal (assuming the trans is in good condition) I already paid - let me know if I screwed up ? PS: currently running a junkyard trans that keeps slipping so ?‍♂️ anything’s better… right? submitted by /u/Juicepgz [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

To preface, I absolutely love the car, which is why this issue is perplexing me so much. Recently picked up a '23 300S 5.7L V8 new. I Noticed a ticking noise that seemed to come from around the glovebox area the day I bought it, I didn't hear it on the test drive but we had the ac on and I was talking with the salesman, I first noticed it later that night.
