Question for the sub

A friend of mine and I are having a debate and I figure I'd ask this sub to help solve it. He played Omaha, bought in for $300, then won a $150 freeroll the place gives as incentive for players to come (this happens about 100 minutes into the game) so he now has $450 in chips on him. He ends up cashing out with $280. I'm arguing that the freeroll, since it wasn't won from other players on the table i.e. the competition but was given to him by the house, is inflating his stats, that his play is reflective to that of someone who bought in for $450 dollars and lost $170, he is arguing that I sho ..read more

Preparing for WSOP

I'm an experienced player with overall winning record at low stakes online sit and go tournaments. I've played in WSOP events in the past and cashed a couple of times. I'm planning on spending a few days at WSOP this year, playing in 1 or 2 lower buy-in events. I am looking for a study plan to up my game a bit. What would you do if you had two months to work on tournament strategy and GTO? As a background, my previous intensive studies were from long ago with books like Harrington's books on tournaments. I understand the basics of GTO and how it works, but I don't have a deep knowledge. I'm l ..read more

Hey everyone. So, I just won past Sunday my first Gold Path ticket - 9300€. The ticket includes a bundle of: 10x250€ tickets 25x100€ tickets 35x50€ tickets 40x30€ tickets 40x20€ tickets 50x10€ tickets Since I´m a spin and go player I also have the option to choose 186 tickets of 50€ or 93 100€ tickets for spin and gos. Any suggestion on what option I should choose? All best to everyone submitted by /u/PokerOnly141 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The Utter Momentousness of Randomness

Hello, This might be an unusual post. I've been playing poker, either online or at the casinos, off and on for about 16 years. I'd like to start a discussion about the utter momentousness of randomness, or something like that. It's hard to express what I am trying to say in words. This relates to an experience I had in 2017. At my local casino, I won a table share of the bad beat. Now the bad beat jackpot does not hit very often at this casino, maybe two or three times a year. I happened to be lucky enough to be at that table at the right moment, for the right hand. I won a pretty good chunk ..read more
