Benefits of Abacus
My child has made significant progress after learning the abacus. I can appreciate the advantages of the abacus as a parent and hope to pass them on to other children.
VISUALIZATION
Learning Abacus improves one’s ability to visualize. Visualization is a by-product of the functioning of the right brain. This indicates that the Abacus enhances the right side of the brain by incorporating the ability to visualize images.
SPEED
By moving the beads that catch their attention, the abacus allows children to solve problems using an instrument rather than a piece of paper. T ..read more

I wish to take up IPA Abacus franchisee. Is it a good idea?
IPA has been up and running since 2003. We have been an established and popular company with an excellent track record. Our franchisees are equipped with their own ecosystems, right from course pamphlets, banner demo sessions in playschools and schools, student kits (company bags, company t-shirts, books, tools), and assistance for digital marketing support (online marketing and promotion). This ready-to-go system in place makes owning a franchise a more attractive proposition than starting a local business from scratch. W ..read more

HOW DOES ABACUS WORK ?
Below we will see how to use the abacus.
First of all abacus should be kept on flat surface so that the beads don’t move and change position
when the child works on the instrument.. Abacus is a tool with 5 beads in each bar fixed on a wooden
frame. There is a horizontal bar which separates one bead at the upper portion from the 4 beads at the
lower portion. Kids are taught the value of beads, place value etc at the first place followed by
manipulating the beads up and down while doing the calculations. Holding the abacus , pencils and
finger movements play a vital ro ..read more

DOES ABACUS HELP IN LEARNING MATHS ?
Is abacus useful in maths. Very interesting question.
When we say abacus it means we are talking about a tool with beads fixed for basic arithmetic
operations of addition, subtraction multiplication and division by manipulating the beads. Abacus is
taught as early as 5 years old for the children once they can recognise and write numbers from 1 to
100. Abacus learning is the best way to improve the arithmetic skills. It helps the children to
develop interest and passion in maths at an early age.. Not only it helps them to become proficient

CAN ABACUS DO DIVISION?
What is Division? It is the opposite function of Multiplication. Once children are thorough with
Multiplication tables 1 to 9 they can do wonders in abacus method. Normally we take into account the
number of digits in dividend and the number of digit in the divisor to work on the abacus when we teach
division. Normally the divisor is not put in any of the rods. The value of dividend should be placed
on the rod considering the number of digits as mentioned above and children should start solving the
problem. Final answer can be read in the abacus once done. IPA has a ..read more

Can abacus be used for multiplication?
We will see below how we use abacus for multiplication. For example we take 48 x 3. The total number of digits are 3, hence we start our answers from the third rod. First we multiply 4 x 3 and put the value from 3rd rod or 100’s place we call it. Then we multiply 8 and 3 and add in the value i.e 120 we have put in the abacus already. Hence the answer is 144. Multiplication tricks are nothing but the number of digits in multiplicand and number of digits in the multiplier are taken’ together for rod selection which enables the children to visualize and ..read more
