Greetings from Provence! 2021 was a memorable year in Provence!  France opened its doors to tourism in June, and I was able to host some incredible tours in the summer and fall. I had amazing guests, we explored, enjoyed the wine, food, and of course took some great photos.   I’ve been scouting out new locations for next year’s tours. I’ve uncovered some fantastic villages, chateaus, and hidden gems in Provence. I’ll be showing these in some Instagram lives, so stay tuned. I would like to share this lovely testimonial from one of our guests. She gives a great account of our tour ..read more

I am honored to announce that my image, “Feeling Groovy”, was selected by juror, Stephen Perloff, as honorable mention for the New York Center for Photographic Arts, 2019, Primary Colors exhibition. There were a total of 46 images selected for the exhibition out of almost 1000 images submitted. This image is very dear to me as it was created in my home town of Portland, Oregon back in 2012. The image was juried into my first group gallery exhibition in 2014, at the Lightbox Gallery in Astoria, Oregon, and it received my first international recognition, being granted honorable mention, for the ..read more

This is a view from my bedroom window in my home in Goult, France. This photo was taken in March shortly after I moved here. It has been a long time since I last blogged. I have been going through a huge transition in my life over the past 2 years.  To keep it short, I ended my marriage,  cleared out of most of my belongings,  left my 34 year career as a nurse, and in February, 2018, I moved to the south of France to begin my full-time career as a professional photographer.  This past year has been the most fulfilling year of my life. To back track a bit, the first ti ..read more

I had the great fortune of collaborating with Carla Rossi, aka, Anthony Hudson on this shoot.  I met Carla Rossi in August of 2011 during a photography workshop.  I was mesmerized her, and instantly knew I wanted to work with, and feature her in one of my, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" shoots.   After a few years, we were finally able to coordinate out schedules, and this is the result of a very long, but fun filled day of shooting. A huge thanks to my amazing team of creatives;  Michele Wade: hairstylist, Carla Rossi: model, Malia Rodgers: model, Tyler Ve ..read more

"...a very polished image, technically very accomplished yet evocative of a time that is enhanced by the bit of mystery it contains." Jury member Sarah Leen, Director of Photography at National Geographic Shortly after I celebrated my 50th birthday, due in no small part to a gift I received from my husband and family that day, I decided to change my career path as a registered nurse, and follow my dream of becoming a professional photographer, which had bubbled around in my subconscious since I was a teen.  I never dreamed that a mere, if whirlwind,&nbs ..read more

The Sweetheart---Happy Valentine's Day

This series of photographs is titled “The Sweetheart”. What began as a Valentine’s Day themed shoot, and was intended as part of another series on which I am working, quickly took on a subtle life of its own. The result is a delightfully absurd, satirical photo essay on the popular reality television series “The Bachelor” and its constant theme on the fickle na ..read more
