More Paris, More Unique
This is my mantra for the year - offer you more of the Paris postcard locations that are not focused solely on the Eiffel Tower , but it is part of the view. Think of it as more tasteful views of the Tower where you can get a full sized photo of yourself and the tower is also complete…and it doesn’t steal attention from you. Don’t be afraid to experiment more, it is still Paris. Just make it your Paris.

Meet Roberto and Rossana - both from Mexico with Roberto having some Costa Rican ancestry which was a surprise when we met up at Le Recrutement. He got my contact from a previous client who works with Roberto - not the first time Michelle sends me someone my way, love her for keep referring me people with most recently her own work boss.
They were also traveling with their family and wanted them in the photoshoot, so I proposed them to first start off the session with only the two of them and then have the family meet us after on Alexander 3. This way, they got the best of both w ..read more

Rinat and Yoav
Surprise proposals - I love capturing them. This one is a bit extra special - this is my first time capturing a surprise proposal on video. The original plan was supposed to have the audio recorded by Yoav’s iPhone in his pocket. Buuuuut nerves got the better of him and he didn’t have the moment to turn on the voice recorder. Also, the wind was so bad that it drowned the audio from my camera.
This session was a shorter than usual because of the terrible weather. It may not come through the images or the video, but it was very cold and mega windy. We were also worri ..read more

Valentine's Day in Spanish means Friendship Day - at least where I’m from in Costa Rica. This was the root of my yearly giveaway for February 14th. It’s been a few years since I have done one of these - thank you pandemic! - but I think it’s time to bring it back because it gave me one of the my fondest Paris Portrait experiences ever.
Meet Glenda and Rod. They won my second ever giveaway and this was their experience. Their story is quite special - they started dating when they were 14 years old. At 34, they have been together for 20 and married for 5, but never been in a photos ..read more

Meet Jenya - a high end Parisian makeup artist and hair stylist. We finally met in person during a unseasonably cold June morning for a Pre-Wedding portrait session of a client. We have been on each other's Instagram accounts for a long time, we have had common clients and I actually recommend her when my clients want a makeup artist for our portraits.
Flash forward to another unseasonably warm first days of October, I asked her if she would like to have some portraits and video taken by me. These are the results of that afternoon a few months back.
We met up in Tuileries and m ..read more

There is the old phrase in media production - it's not the gear, it's the person behind the gear. While having modern and fancy gear definitely makes life as a professional photographer easier, having the right gear for a specific job is important. Enter K&F Concept - the reached out to me to offer a new filter and I ended up choosing their Nano X Variable Neutral Density (ND) over their newer magnetic line because of the versatility the Nano X offers. Here's how it went and my thoughts on this filter.

The majority of my clients have never been to France and only know the country from films and photos, or they visited once a long time ago. So, I have created this location guide to help the first timers in Paris and to refresh the memories of returnees. Besides the Eiffel Tower, there are plenty of other amazing spots perfect for your portrait session. My Instagram account serves as a main entry for locations, but this guide explains the Pros and Cons of each of them and it also goes into details of logistics.

If you are visiting Paris and have to get somewhere fast and on time, you may want to consider grabbing a Taxi instead of an Uber. It may not be what you want to hear, but trust me.
The leading taxi company in Paris is called G7. You can check their website here and their app for iOS and Android. They work very similar to Uber—you create an account, add your credit card, and you are good to go.
Why I recommend G7
During rush hour, taxis can drive in the many bus lanes across the city. This little difference can significantly reduce travel times, especially if you have to get some ..read more
