The call by separatists for a “a ghost town” in Bamenda on 28 July was met with mixed reactions.   Security threats in the run-up to the burial of the historic opposition leader, John Fru Ndi  failed to materialise. According to the presidential decree, “an official funeral will be held in honour of Mr Ni John Fru Ndi, President of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), who died in Yaounde last June 12, 2023 as a result of an illness.
