In this new content, each stroke tells a story, blending precision with emotion. The lines intertwine, forming intricate details that showcase the artist's skill. Whether it's a portrait, landscape, or abstract concept, the pencil brings forth a... pencil sketch drawing ..read more

Hello new member here. After covid started I started a challenge where i try to learn a new skill or hobby every year. I either drop it after a year or keep doing, it if i enjoy it ,but i give it a year of trying. For next year i wanted to learn drawing. My goal is to be able to draw realistic drawings of things i see in my daily life, like people ,animals or buildings. I wanted to ask, if there is a rough roadmap or something like that. Hello. I'm new here and trying to figure out what paper to buy. I know the best paper is mostly personal preference, but I don't have much experience with this since I've mostly just been using sketchbooks I've been given as gifts. I've been given so many that I haven't had to buy one since I started drawing and still have a few unused ones. However, I want to draw something as a gift for a friend and I want to make sure I have good paper for it. I'm planning on doing a realistic mammoth... Choosing Paper ..read more

So far I've had a go at sketching out a couple of pictures and I could use some advice on how to make the sketches better and more realistic etc. What am I doing wrong and where should I aim to practice more. (The second one is not finished yet ..read more

Hello to whoever is reading this post. I am a retired senior citizen and this is the first time I joined a forum. I consider myself a hobbist and I have never received any formal art trainiing. As a youngster I enjoyed drawing with regular HB graphite pencil and crayons. After graduating from high school I followed the directions of my elders and chose a career path that gave me a play check instead of attending art school. Through out the years I was fortunate that a number of mentors gave... New Member ..read more

Greetings from Wisconsin. I am Ray. 68 a buttugly ol biker given a second chance at life. I am retired now, and revisiting some of the life taken from me. Open heart surgery messed up my right arm/neck/hand and arthritis has set in my right index finger. I once loved to draw, but find it painful now. No amount of pain killers will take it away. SO.....any advise on revised drawing techniques? I draw for fun, not to woo the world. Thanks! I know the artist community are always eager to get... obligatory introduction and plea for advise ..read more
