I’ve noticed a lot of the plastic water feeders on Amazon etc need to be filled up upside down and then the base needs to align with three notches and screwed on whilst still upside down. I’ve attached an image of this style - this is what we don’t want
Any suggestions for alternatives? M

I don’t know what happened to this little guy. They all hatched 3 days ago and were just fine. Today I noticed splayed leg walking, so I put the splint on him. Since the he can’t walk, just jets both legs out and flips onto their back. They won’t stand even with gentle support. I’ve noticed biting at their rump/back legs, so I’m thinking they’re in pain. As soon as I got him set up in this, he passed out. Poor little darling.
I’m going to lower it in awhile to have the feet’s flat, but they need a sleep.

I have some chickens and im wondering what will take the natural bloom off the egg. Some of the eggs get some what dirty, especially my duck eggs. Wiping with a dry towel doesn't do much. Will a busted egg effect the rest in the nest or wet chickens during the rain sitting on them? Is there any way to check if the bloom is still intact?

Have you named your chickens? I love reading the names people select for their chickens, especially with a backstory. Tell me about your laying ladies!

Have a small back yard flock and want them to free range around the yard. I’m still paranoid about birds coming down and snatching them. Anything I can do to minimize that?

Came home from a trip and my favorite girly is limping. She’s still eating and drinking and can get around but it doesn’t look fun. I suspect she got her leg caught because I had a dog crate in their run that they like to play on. However I just want to rule out bumble foot. There’s a small dot on one of her toes?

I had a third American Buff gosling, but sadly she passed away Saturday (failure to thrive - did all I could for her)
Lettuce and Ginger are happy, healthy, and lively though! I was hoping my single female yearling American Buff goose Olive would take to them, but she chose violence so I had to put a fine mesh around the gosling pen because she was trying to get at them through the bars(fell asleep against the bars in one photo waiting for me to look away long enough for her to strike). Brat. She is a very jealous goose. Hates me paying attention to any animal that isnt her.
