Ok, a couple of months ago I purchased the CAT 977K. Running good, but bucket hydraulics weren't working. So it is now time to figure out what is going on.
I've tracked the leak down to a pipe/hose junction for the lower lift cylinders. And, of course in the most inaccessible location imaginable. It is buried in behind the tracks on the left side of the crawler. From the top side, I might have to split the...

TyrFil™ Flatproofing – Carlisle TyrFil™
Anyone ever use this stuff? How do you replace the tires when it is time? I can see some pro's and con's. My biggest con, is it adds weight. I bought a compact wheel loader and my requirement was 11-11.5k operating weight, to keep it legal when I haul it. It appears to have this stuff in the tires. On a 365/70Rx18, it adds about 250-300 lbs, depending on wheel style. So now, my 11.5k loader weighs 12.5k darn it ..read more

First off this is not my unit but it is currently sitting on my property. Back in November the contractor hire to raise my bents unloaded this unit at the start of our road. He got about 1/4 mile down the road and it acted like it was starved for fuel. He assumed the filter was plugged and proceeded to swap out and purge any air. About this time they came down to get me as I wondered why they were running late. It was in a narrow spot so we towed it another 4/10 of a mile to my...

I just purchased a Case 550 Crawler Dozer with 6 way blade. Machine is in reasonably good operating condition - everything seems to work OK. It came with the Case OEM operator and maintenance manual - I cant find anything in the manual regarding maintenance / lubrication for the front idler and track rollers in the routine maintenance section. I had an older Case 450 dozer and it had grease fittings on the front idler and upper track carrier roller - not sure if they were OEM or if someone...

The fitting itself is not the problem, it seems there is a bushing in the eye that has spun and no longer allows grease into the joint. I tried drilling one out with a nitro bit after removing the pin to no avail. Has anyone ever dealt with this?

Our RC100 is slow to respond when turning left. Line pressures seem proper, and engine RPM makes no apparent difference. Once left turn engages the unit runs true. Makes no difference whether forward or reverse the slowness of initiating left turn is same. I believe problem is a sticky shuttle valve in joy stick base or at transmission. Not sure which. All other hydraulic functions are completly normal and zero issues ..read more
