I have a cannabis related channel, all my posts get flagged and I was never able to monetize. Eventually YouTube said my whole channel was demonotized, but that didn't really matter because non of my videos were allowed to be monetized anyways. 52k subs, which I'm proud of considering I get no love from the algorithm. I have a sponsor that pays me $1000 to make a monthly video and some IG posts. One of my really old videos were not flagged 18+, this was lucky because it does get love from the algorithm, the majority of my growth is because of that video. It's not my best work, I wish the algo ..read more

Have you ever seen a retention spike like this?

My latest video has a gnarly retention spike. It shoots up to over 100% around the 25 minute mark (https://imgur.com/a/4zsT3UM) The video has over 13k views, so I don't think it's coming from an outlier. It seems to be coming from subscribers (https://imgur.com/a/vCXCnfG) I've seen AVD spikes before, but nowhere near on this scale. I hope its only a glitch. Otherwise, I'm afraid it might be a bot. In which case I'm worried about the dreaded "invalid traffic" branding may come soon... I recently got monetized on motorcycle content, I quit that because it’s something that I wouldn’t want to monetize for personal reasons as I would like to keep that part of my life not as a paycheck…. But im thinking of switching to content where I talk about a topic with gameplay in the background… has anyone done this and what happened submitted by /u/Macawed [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I created a video about cheating in THE FINALS game and uploaded it to YouTube about a month ago. The video features screen-shared content showing me browsing hacker forums, discussing available cheats for the game and other games. My intention was to highlight the prevalence of hacking in the game and encourage people to use the report function, as the anti-cheat system is insufficient. Twelve hours after posting the video, Embark Studios, the game's developer, sent me a copyright strike notification, claiming that my content infringes on their rights. As a result, YouTube removed my video ..read more

How do you All Reach out to Companies for Sponsorships?

Hey everyone! First post here! I run a 350k YouTube account, mostly shorts, and while I have done a decent amount of sponsorships, I want to try reaching out more. In the LEGO / PopCulture Niche, and while there are lots of companies I would like to work with, the only emails I can ever find are for customer feedback or complaints. Do you just reach out on a social network like ig, or is there a place to get these emails? Thanks, Portal Master submitted by /u/Background_Space_696 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What happened to the 10 free gifted memberships YouTube was giving out?

Did anybody else who livestreams take advantage of the 10/month free gifteds that YouTube was giving out starting late last year? I was under the impression that would be a recurring thing and as of last month I don't have the option anymore. Did they just quietly 86 it altogether, or did they just yank it from me because I haven't sold a membership in 6 months? submitted by /u/N8Nefarious [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
