She’s not Canadian, or queer, but she’s a true queen and we’ve always been obsessed. This is why we’re happy to share her new song and video ahead of Yelle’s mini US tour.
From the press release: “A double reading of the lyrics, a principle that has become her signature, makes us oscillate between the senses and the dance, while the video provides a more obvious answer: Yelle, the queen, is now also a mother.”
Yes, our queen is a mom and she’s now on tour.

Our latest Hot Touch party (a collaborative effort with Prism) was a love-fest with Defected, and Glitterbox favourite Natasha Diggs.
We opened the night, Karim Olen Ash then played and Natasha Diggs delivered a monster set of funk, disco, and house to feed our mind, bodies and souls. We had dancers Shadow Noir, and Steph Brinning, alongside extra special hosts Bon Bon Dispencer, Mark-Ché, Gwen Adora and Mic Carter.
Thank y’all so much for coming out and supporting this new venture which is trying to blend two worlds, in a club we normally don’t have access to.

Are there safe queer spaces anymore?
The horrific shooting, five deaths and multiple injuries that happened at Club Q in Colorado on Saturday, November 19th will sadly go down in history as another targeted act of violence against queer people in one of our spaces. One of places folks in our community go to dance, be themselves, flirt, have fun and forget the painful world outside.
When someone comes into that space to hurt us, it can feel like a collective punch to the gut and heart, especially those who go out regularly, those who throw parties and events and the folks who run these spaces ..read more

“We are ULTRA EXCITED about this month's guest DJ for the Yohomo Show, it's @escobutt ! Toronto's "tech bender by day, dj by night," Ecobutt is a non-binary artist who blends big, bass-y sounds from across the Latinx diaspora (holi cumbia, reggaeton y massss).
Escobutt created this mix not-very-long-ago and was kind enough to debut it in partnership with us and @iso.radio for this month’s Yohomo Show (which happens every first Thursday of the month at 7pm!)

This is a coming-of-age story we can get into, and it’s happening in Toronto from November 8-19.
Choir Boy was written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Moonlight, Tarell Alvin McCraney, and is about Pharus, a senior at at prestigious prep school and leader of its “legendary gospel choir.
“Conforming to their traditions becomes harder as he learns to accept his identity as a young gay man. Weighing reconciliation and rebellion, Choir Boy is a love letter to the healing power of music, featuring gorgeously sung a cappella hymns.”
Picking up on all the Sister Act vibes we want, we’re supe ..read more
