The GDP deflator index was 109.2% in January – May 2023 compared to the same period last year. This is how Belstat estimated the dynamics of gross domestic product for January – May.
The last time the growth of the Belarusian economy was recorded in February 2022. Then it was estimated at 1.2% over the same period of 2021. However, the result of the first quarter of 2022 was a decline of GDP by 0.4% compared to January – March 2021. It accelerated further.

The Representative Office of German Economy in the Republic of Belarus (AHK Belarus) in cooperation with the Information Center for German Economy, a subsidiary of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), conducted a survey AHK World Business Outlook from March 21 to April 6, 2023.

The summer of 2023 was one of the hottest in Minsk’s history. The temperature soared above 30 degrees Celsius for weeks, making the city feel like a sauna. The air was humid and sticky, and the sun was relentless. People tried to find ways to cool down, such as going to the river, swimming pools, or air-conditioned malls.
