Reflecting on the Women in MACH Event
Mindcurv Blog

Now that I can reflect and analyse the path to be here after organising the first Women in MACH event in Alma Sensai Madrid, I have mixed feelings. When Markus Tillmann began to talk to us about the idea he had in mind a year ago, we started to think about it and define the concept, content and, above all, what we wanted the purpose of this event to be (his reflection makes me proud to have colleagues like him). The idea was to do something, to create a change or a movement and not just have another event to talk about diversity, equality and inclusion. It is enriching to ..read more

Mindcurv Blog
by Markus Tillmann

Microsoft’s SQL Server 2012 is reaching end of life (EOL) this July, and companies with on-premise versions are encouraged to move to Azure. With the right approach, this data migration can be a starting point to convince the business of the benefits of a larger cloud move. In one of my previous articles, I covered the top triggers, including SQL 2012 EOL, that are making database migration a top priority for many technology leaders. In this article, I’ll take a look at how an SQL Server migration can be used to jumpstart a modern public cloud strategy and what you should do to get it ..read more

A Global Commerce Platform for Multiple B2B Business Models
Mindcurv Blog
by Markus Tillmann
2y ago
The number of B2B companies offering e-commerce capabilities shot up from 53% to 65% over the course of 2021, according to surveys from McKinsey & Company, and e-commerce now accounts for the same slice of B2B revenue (18%) as in-person sales. The pressure to go digital is causing growing pains for many B2B businesses, often because of commerce platforms reaching end of life or reaching the point where it’s too expensive to scale due to years of customization. Companies are now looking for a commerce solution that can support them beyond the next step and help them continue to expa ..read more

How to Spot a Company with a Growth Mindset
Mindcurv Blog
by Mohan Gopinath

There’s a recurring story heard in interviews lately: “I’ve been working with a large service integrator / digital service agency for years, and I feel stuck. I’m still delivering small parts of large projects without ever getting the full picture of what a customer really needs. To enjoy the next phase of my career, I need to find a place where I’m not locked into one specialty, or worse, one project. As well as the chance to move up in the organization without waiting for someone else to move out.” Of course, finding a company that supports this type of flexible career p ..read more

The Future of Work at Mindcurv

At Mindcurv, we have always found ways to let our team members work in the most efficient and productive way they see fit. Most of our international teams are spread across the globe and were used to a hybrid and virtual environment from day one due to our mixed shore approach. When the pandemic started, a message in Slack was all we needed to switch to a fully remote setup. It was just part of our DNA, and if you have all the tech and tools and a team used to that way of working, it’s easy, right? It took not too long until we figured out it was not that easy. Two years later, we have ..read more

Cost of Missed Opportunities when Stuck on Legacy Platforms
Mindcurv Blog
by Ralf Hetzer

Running a legacy platform can feel like driving an old car. It doesn’t have the great efficiency or modern safety and comfort features of the newer models, but you’re used to driving it and want to avoid the cost and hassle of replacing it. Then the old car needs a new starter, and the spark plugs start to misfire, and it becomes very hard to find a mechanic that knows how to service your model. Eventually, there’s a point where it costs more to maintain the old car than to upgrade to a new one. Along with maintenance costs, and the potential costs from the risks of runnin ..read more

Innovating with MACH Part 3 – The Why and How of Going Cloud-Native
Mindcurv Blog

The previous articles of the ‘Innovating with MACH’ series looked at how business capabilities should determine microservices and the business value of being truly API-first. This brings us to how companies are modernizing through cloud-native technologies. Of course, you would have heard plenty of jargon, but in this article, we’ll try to focus on how you use the cloud and not on the cloud services themselves. What is Cloud-Native Development? Cloud-native development is agile, behavior-driven development, using cloud services in whichever way that makes sense organization ..read more
