Lots of fresh strawberries around here right now. My wife likes to bake. She makes her own crust. Cuts up her strawberries and uses raspberry filling. She claims that is the secret. I agree. She makes good pies. Here's a pic. Those are strawberry pretzels on top ..read more

I know we all have one but what is your go to dessert?
When making something mine is Cheesecake. Not sure why I enjoy making them.so much but I do.
I did this one Saturday for a friend's birthday.
Now when someone else is making it I go with a brownie Sunday or TX sheet cake.
That's strawberry pie that was just posted got me thinking.

Not the prettiest pie but sure is tasty. I found a crust I liked on that last Strawberry dessert I made with the exception it was grainy and fixed it with using a different sugar this time. My favorite sugar substitute has been Purecane which looks and taste just like sugar to me. I used Allulose for this and came out great. I will be using this crust for most my desserts now. The recipe did not make enough to cover the sides of pie plate so I switched to spring pan. Just use regular...

Here are some samples from the birthday party. I’m more of the dough roller and she is the artist They take a lot of time to make as the dough is scratch the flood has to dry, then stages of colors dry etc but outcome is good and people love the taste

Had a good sale on Strawberries and was looking through ALL DAY I DREAM ABOUT FOOD site and seen this. Thought I would give it a shot. I really like this one. It was lighter than most. I'm sometimes dismayed that no one in my family cares for the taste of coffee or espresso.
That's okay, chocolate is adored and Dark Chocolate perhaps more-so.

Dessert = Smoked CI Pineapple Upside Down cake, Big single serve dishes
Found a recipe for skillet upside down cake , but I just wanted to make 2 servings ( each dish could be 2 servings in most homes, lol )
All the ingredients together , in a sauce pan melt the butter and brown sugar until dissolved, pour into CI dishes.
Place the pineapple in and a couple pecan halves. Mix up the batter lightly pour in and than off to the preheated smoker at 350 - 360 deg.

My buddy asked me last week if I ever had cooking mess ups. I laughed and said I have them constantly. Usually I work with it until it’s no longer a disaster. Sometimes you have to roll with the punches lol. Turns out the new doughnut pans I bought were neither mini or full size. They were over filled and the holes baked shut. Made Jeff's Keto Chocolate Silk Cheesecake. Did a half recipe and used mini cheesecake pan. This stuff is so rich!
