33F, headaches, had an eye appointment this morning after noticing my vision is progressively getting worse! I am white, don’t drink or smoke. I had ptosis as a baby/kid and had surgery for it (right eye) when I was 4 or 5. Also had an eye injury around age 8 that required a patch for a while, unsure which eye. Was nervous and didn’t take in what doctor said - I hope this is allowed! The doctor mentioned something about the way these pictures looked at my appointment but I didn’t register what she said. Something about a difference between my eyes. Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/BXQrfoU subm ..read more

4 years ago after blunt force trauma to my left eye I underwent emergency surgery so remove damaged lens. In addition the capsular bag was severely damaged and damaged Iris sphincter muscle. The eye was dilated. A second surgery was complete to insert an IOL and pupiloplasty to suture the Iris muscle. My vision never did return and I have about 20/100, it was attributed to a scar on my cornea from the trauma. I tried scleral lens and seen a surgeon to laser part of the cornea but scar was too deep. Recently another surgeon has suggested repositioning the IOL as it was not centered (no capsula ..read more

Hi, White, moderate drinker, non-smoker. No chronic health issues (yet). -4.25 diopters in both eyes. Slight astigmatism in one eye (forget which). Left eye dominant (will explain later). When I wake from deep sleep, the first 30-90 seconds that I try to focus on anything farther than a few inches away I have double vision as my eyes don't track together. I notice this if I hold my head still and look from left to right and also if I fix my eyes on a point and turn my head, I notice my left eye in particular will lose its lock for a split second towards the center of my field of vision (when ..read more

We already have a referral into an opthamologist but it's not until early June so in the meantime I'm worrying myself sick. I'm really only worried about serious causes (like brain tumors), I'm not worried about her vision because I know if it's impaired there are things we can do about it and it won't threaten her life. Anyway, I don't know how long I've noticed this (I've been obsessing over it lately and certainly paying more attention to it) but it's been a few months at least. At her 6 month dr. appointment, her doctor said she has pseudostrabismus, but I noticed there was definitie esot ..read more

It's better to show, so here's a photos: https://imgur.com/a/LLqswfr As you can see, the small white dot and redness around it. Absolutely no symptoms (like pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision or anything else). The eye feels absolutely fine... I keep this eye closed to minimize its contact with the environment. I also regularly use Thealoz Duo moisturizing drops. I think that everything will heal on its own, without outside help (as it usually happens with other minor injuries), but I would like to know the exact diagnosis, if it's possible. What kind of injury is this? It literally appe ..read more

31 M was diagnosed a few years ago with central serous retinopathy. Left with scotoma in left eye that distorts prt of the lower visual field. How come people diagnosed with AMN or PAMM do also get scotomas but do not have any distortion in their scotomas they kinda just block vision as opposed to mine that behaves more like the physiological blindspot warping any object passing through? submitted by /u/Motor_Scratch_160 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was at the optometrist recently and upon looking closely at my eyes he said "you wear sunglasses all the time don't you?" And I said "no, I literally never do. Haven't even once in the last 15 years." I didn't follow up but I am very curious as to why he thought I do. Can anyone educate me? submitted by /u/Known-Map9195 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

43 F - Scar in the middle of cornea - options for treatment?

My wife has had this from a long time ago, stemming from an infection she had in childhood. She really wants to improve her eyesight, but is running into issues because of it. She was told by the ophthalmologist today that glasses, contacts, and Lasik are not an option for her. I heard something about surgery, I think a corneal transplant - how good are those procedures nowadays? Are there other options out there we should look into? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. submitted by /u/ChernobylChild [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

White | Left -2.00, Right -2.25 | Vape, Social Drinking, Minimal Marijuana Use | No Medical Issues | Current Med is Liletta IUD (?) Hi, I feel as though I have no choice but to ask here since I’ve consulted my physician and ophthalmologist several times on this issue. So, a little less than a decade ago I began to have serious pain in my left eye. It literally felt like an ice pick was being shoved into it. I’d have “attacks” a few times a day. I went to the eye specialist and he said my eye was normal and didn’t have any further suggestions. This lasted for a few more years and stopped. I no ..read more

What should I do and where do I need to go? I don't know very well about ophthalmology/optometry. Is it alarming? I can feel something everytime I blink or close my eyes. For the last 5 hours, I thought it was a speck of dust but when I captured it using macro lens, it doesn't seem like a dust. It just happened after I cleanse my face. I tried to use eye drops but it didn't help. Thanks for your answers! Pic: https://imgur.com/a/HsvwGdr submitted by /u/Fuzzy-Internal-721 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
