Just spent 2 weeks cycling Loire from source to sea. I was completely blown away by the beauty and diversity of the pruned trees. What do you call it, they were mainly not pollards? Are there regional styles, who decides how they are pruned and the frequency? What age do you start? How old can first pruning be? Just loved seeing so much well managed woodland and wood being used. Did you arbtalkers move to France for work or lifestyle? I suspect my mate is developing psychological issues and wonder if anyone can help.   His trouble seems to be with the wrong type of grass in his lawn. It's got under his skin now and he's becoming desperate. Apparently it's annual Meadow Grass and he's tried cutting it out with little success.   I have suggested he drink another glass of gin and find something that actually matters to keep him awake at night but to no avail, so I promised I'd ask here if anyone knows the secret to instant Meadow Grass eradication ..read more

Made this last night. Half kilo lean beef (trimmed) Salt Pepper Chilli Soya sauce (Anything else you like) Marinade and roll about in a bowl for half hour. Rinse all marinade off. (Important) Lay out between two tea towels and press gently to dry. Lay on wire rack Put in cold oven with fan on, Or place in front of desk fan. For 6-12 hours. It's done. Anyone got any ideas for a day rate on thinning small woodlands for 2x cutters and 2x labourers we are going to be felling, chipping and skidding larger logs to burn on a fire also stacking the medium logs in (habitat piles/log walls) between trees, creating wood chip paths after mulching with a 3 ton excavator also will have log grab attachment I will be charging the customer separately for the hire of the digger and attachments. Evening, any CCTV buffs on here? I’m  running 5 Hikvision ColorVU 5mp cameras, and trying to set perimeter alerts on 2 of these, but apparently my dvr isn’t fast/capable enough (when I google the error message).
