For those of you who are trapping, what all tools and supplies do you consider adequate to feed a family of four in your location for 2-5 years without resupply? On a meat- and fat-heavy diet. What quantity of supplies would you need to guarantee good results for survival for your region?
Yes, "As many as you can afford." What's the minimum you consider adequate for you?
This can include fish traps and tackle like yo-yos, crab traps, and trot lines.

Up till my trip to Tandy, I had been working with some leather of unknown age that I picked up at a thrift store (got a steal I paid $30 for an...

Hey, I wanted to see if any of you all had experience with fire pistons? I built one and it doesn't seem to be working. It has a tight seal and the pipe gets warm if you plunge it a few times but when I put a small piece of tissue in it, it doesn't ignite. Is char cloth that much more flammable than tissue that it may catch when tissue won't? I don't have any char cloth on hand so I can't try it just yet. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.
