Bob Marley, photographed by Dennis Morris - www.dennismorris.com
May I have your attention please?
Will the fake Bob Marley please stand up?
I repeat.
Will the fake Bob Marley please stand up?
We’re gonna have a problem here…..
I am a wedding photographer who was born in South Africa, now based in New Zealand, who just happens to know quite a bit about Bob Marley and his life. I’ve read many books about Bob. Watched pretty much every single Bob documentary. I grew up in South Africa and have been listening to Bob Marley since the days of vinyl. As a kid, I was obsessed with his music. I can t ..read more

Maddi + Taine // Átaahua Tauranga Wedding Photos // Átaahua Garden Venue Wedding Photography
This was a beautiful Autumn wedding out at Átaahua (which means beautiful in Te Reo Māori). This venue looks good in every season if I’m honest, but Autumn really does display something special here.
Autumn is genuinely my favourite season - not just because of all the amazing colours, but the daylight hours that work in your favour too, meaning that you can do your wedding party and portrait photographs right up until the best light of the day at sunset time!
Big shout out to the following vendors:

Creative First Look at Hotel DeBrett in Auckland
Not sure whether to do a first look or not? Not even sure what a first look is?
A first look (or reveal) is where the couple see each other (and then do all their wedding party and couple/portrait photographs) before the ceremony
The good thing about a first look, is that we can get all the photos done and out of the way before any guests arrive at your wedding, meaning that after the ceremony, you don’t have to go away for photos i.e. you don’t have to leave your guests. Traditionally, a couple would have their ceremony, then do family/group p ..read more

Natasha + Mark // Eagle Ridge Wedding Photos // Tauranga Wedding Photographers NZ
A sneaky little ‘back to back first touch of the hands’ rendezvous before the ceremony, mega golden light, belly laughs, good banter, all in all one solid and epic wedding! They met in law class when they were both studying. They got closer and closer to each other and eventually were seated next to each other permanently, and the rest, as they say, is history.
During the speeches, secret came out that Natasha loves her day naps and then laughter erupted after we were all told that her new initials would be N.A ..read more

Kelsey + Ged // Bracu Estate Wedding Photos // Auckland Wedding Photographers NZ
Aotearower put on another oarsome summer sunset as Kelsey + Ged married in the beautiful olive trees at Bracu Estate in Bombay, Auckland. They met each other rowing for Auckland (the reason for my cheesy puns), and Kelsey is actually an Olympian having picked up a Silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. It's also the 4th wedding that Ged and I have been at together (guest appearance and groomsman duties the first 3 times), and finally it was his turn to put a ring on it.
A very awesome first look, followed by a bea ..read more

Hazel + Simon // Old Forest School Wedding Photos // Tauranga Wedding Photographers NZ
Having both studied and now working in Forestry Science, Old Forest School was the perfect place for Hazel and Simon, two awesome human beings. Hazel + Simon. Their actual surname is Honour and it sure was an HONOUR to document their day. Kudos to all the vendors below, and the Tangelo & Honeycomb ice cream from Mount Made Ice Cream was next level. Also, It’s not often that I’ve seen 2 people at a wedding with the exact same outfit. This wedding had 4 x 2 people wearing the same thing. The funny thing i ..read more

Victoria + Tony // Te Moenga Lodge Wedding Photos // Taupo Wedding Photographers NZ, Acacia Bay
What started as a blind date, turned into an almost real life Barbie + Ken wedding at Te Moenga Lodge in Acacia Bay, overlooking the beautiful Lake Taupo. What a great day to be part of, working with fantastic vendors. Always love a neat sunset and nothing like indulging in a well deserved espresso martini too. Oh and move aside shoe game, it was all about the ruler game at this wedding.

2021 Nikon/NZIPP Iris Professional Photography Awards // Grand Master of Photography NZIPP
Another year of awards has come and gone and I’m now writing this blog post 2 weeks (or so) into NZ’s August 2021 Delta Covid-19 Lockdown. Fun times! Covid has been with us for over 18 months now and New Zealand got to experience 6 months without it. One good thing that came out of that 6 months though, was being able to travel down to Nelson to collect my Grand Master of Photography Distinction, something I’ve been working towards for years. It was wonderful to be able to receive this award in person a ..read more

Liz + Rogan // Waihi Waterlily Gardens Wedding Photos // Wedding Photographers NZ
Movie themes and good music were the go at this epic wedding. Logan was one heck of a Groom, he’s an Engineer AND Lawyer (2 degrees), and a seriously smooth guitar jammer. There were golden hip flasks, tasty food, and an impressive first dance - these were just some of the cool things that made up this chill as wedding out at Waihi Waterlily Gardens.
The definition of cool!
