I’ve wanted to get back to Great Barrier for a long time, my Mum has talked about the island with fond memories of a trip there when I was a pre schooler, it was that long ago I have no memories of the place – but wow it must have been really of the grid back then. Myanmar is a country in political turmoil with Aung San Suu Kyi the current prime minister taking leadership after 15 years spent in house arrest. She may be head of the country, but the military have a firm and controlling grip over the land. This is another complicated story but for safety reasons we choose to stay away from the borders of Myanmar. We visited ..read more
