Help, struggling to remove the control module under the steering column. I need to replace the ignition barrel and switch. The control module covers the ignition barrel. I removed the tiny screw in the front. Able to access the clip in the back. Theres a tiny hole in the front which I pushed a 1.5mm screw driver in but the bottom of the module is not releasing. I'm not sure whether it's the connectors that are tight. I'm worried about using too much force, plastic and very expensive to... Removal control module to replace ignition barrel ..read more

Question about lubricating the sunroof rails

I have been watching this video: The author lubricates first with GT85 (which I have no idea about its composition) And then use G052150A2 grease to finish the process. My question is if this person spray GT 85 spray, is it convenient to use my Lithium Grease Spray Lubricant to spray in those places. On the other hand, I have the typical Krytox, which I have used where this person puts G052150A2 at the end, but I don't know if it is efficient to use it... My 60 plate, pre facelift Eos has a dimmable driver's side wingmirror, whereas the glass in the passenger side is just standard (well it was before I smashed it). Does anyone know if both wingmirrors should be dimmable as standard or is it just meant to be the driver's? Looking for a replacement now, would appreciate any links for one if anyone could oblige. Many thanks! Jon ..read more

2012 Eos Gas Mileage

Just wondering if anyone knows how much of a hit my gas mileage will take if I start driving my car in Sport mode all the time rather than driving it in Drive. I like the spirited response when I occasionally do so, but I realize the transmission is allowing the engine to run at higher revs all the time. I suppose always doing so will lower gas mileage some, but hopefully not too much. Also, would this be detrimental for the engine or the transmission in any way? I tried looking for... 2012 Eos Gas Mileage ..read more

I have a 2007 VW EOS - very happy with its performance. Recently, i haven't been able to unlock and open the boot. I also haven't been able to use keyless entry even though new batteries in key holder. With the boot - i have tried opening thru the backseat of the car pulling the key to open the boot - again 'no luck'. Can anyone suggest how i can open the boot - maybe i should take the car to a panel beater. While its closed - i can't operate roof opening. Any ideas pls!? Peter ..read more

Another Roof Opens Only Halfway Problem, but not flaps...

Just bought a 07 and the roof gets to the point where it is supposed to separate from the pillars and start to store but it quits there. The side flaps are open and all sensors are in the correct position per Ross-Tech video. A scan of the bits in measuring block 2 at that point shows: 110010001001 So it is saying the hall sensors are all in the correct position, and the pillar locks are in the released position. I can move the top slightly to confirm it is not locked down but the... Another Roof Opens Only Halfway Problem, but not flaps ..read more

Hi An engine management light came on a while ago, local garage said it needs a new egr sensor, around £500. The car still drives OK, it's a 2.0d blue motion, 2012, 91,000 FSH, does this sound about right?, any info on this would be great, and is it normally this expensive. I live on the North Essex Coast.
