The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show got underway in Las Vegas on the 9th of January, and one of the first big VR-related announcements was from Sony. According to The JoongAng, a South Korean newspaper, Samsung plans to officially announce an XR headset next year, with a limited December 2024 launch. In a recent Instagram AMA, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth responded to questions about the company’s plans to support 2D Android apps by stating that Google had refused to allow Play Store access on the Quest.
