The photographs are contact-printed by Andrew in the darkroom, directly from the 8" x 10" negatives to preserve maximum tonal quality and detail. Photo: Pascal Harris, from 'Tokyo, July 4, 2023' series I went to a show in Toyko last year. One of my friends was showing his photos. He'd made a photobook to go along with them. I liked this idea, so I determined that I would make a photobook too. I only had about a week left, then I had to return to NZ before my visa ran out. So, one day, I decided that I would take as many good photos as I could and make this into a photobook. This is that day. I was staying in a place called Nakano-Shimbashi, which is where I had my first job teaching English many years ago. I hadn't bee ..read more

'Where Music is Made' - Andrew Ross, 27 Oct-25 Nov 2023, Photospace Gallery, Wellington This exhibition by Andrew Ross was shown at The Pyramid Club, Taranaki St, Wellington in August this year, but a gap in the Photospace Gallery exhibition schedule came up so we thought it would be worthwhile to show 'Where Music is Made' so that more people can see the photos. The photos in this exhibition date from the 1990s to 2023. There was an article by Thomasin Sleigh - 'Background Spaces Revealed' - in The Dominion Post, Sat. 26/8/23 but it isn't online anywhere so I've scanned the text and added ..read more
