I’m leaving for the Marine Corps and my fiancé is leaving for the Army. I know typically the Army and Air Force bases are together and the Marine Corps/Navy are usually together, but how would this work for us as far as housing? Are there any Army/Marine Corps bases that are close together? Which branch base would we stay on?

I accidentally deleted this post. I know I already posted it. But I would like it here for individuals who are considering joining just to be able to see it. How difficult is boot camp? When compared to boot camp back then, What has changed? What are the biggest Dos and Don’ts? What was your experience like as a female? What was your experience like as a male? What is the biggest piece of advice you would give to people going into it, etc.? Whatever you feel is helpful to future recruits feel free to put it here.

My friend graduated basic this past weekend, and she told me that her platoon got in trouble very often for very dumb things (like sneaking in food, talking back, not doing what is asked, etc.) She also mentioned overhearing that mail would get "tossed out," but she couldn't verify if that's what was actually going on or not. All she knew was that she hadn't received a good chunk of the letters I was referring to today while talking to her.
I sent her about one to two letters a week. Some of them were on Sandboxx, some were hand written. One week, I sent her some envelopes, some stamps, and s ..read more
