According to a recently released survey of consumers, it looks like the horticulture industry will continue to ride its pandemic popularity wave next year. That is just one of the findings of the 2022 Gardening Insights Survey where 62% of those surveyed say they will be planting more in the coming year. That number is even higher with millennials, with nearly 76% of that age group planning to expand and plant more. The Society of American Florists (SAF) recently honored James Faust, professor of floriculture physiology at Clemson University, with the 2021 Alex Laurie Award, honoring an individual who has made broad-scope, long-lasting contributions to research or education in the floriculture industry. Faust received the award on Sept. 23 during SAF Orlando 2021, the organization’s 136th Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida.
