Animation artist JJ Beeme created an entertaining musical movie using expressive studio mood portraits taken of him earlier in 2023. Spanish video artist JJ Beeme from Fundación del Garabato used a series of expressive mood studio photographs taken by Ralf Steinberger and Vidas Daudaravicius to produce the animated video I had a dream, visible on Youtube. In the past, JJ Beeme had created a series of movies for his Soulscapes video series. While traveling with Gabi through the formerly Soviet country Georgia, starting mid-March 2022, I am creating this photo diary on the fly. I intend to add photos below while traveling, so come back regularly. After four days in the capital Tbilisi, we shall join a one-week photo tour on abandoned buildings, especially Soviet architecture with photographer James Kerwin. We visited Sal, which is the easternmost of the ten Cape Verdean islands. Its terrain being a desert, it was originally only populated to produce salt, hence its name 'Sal'. Currently, about 20,000 people live on the 30 km long island. Its picturesque beaches are made of fine-grained sand. The waves and the wind invite surfers and kite surfers. The main settlements are Espargos, Santa Maria and the fisher village and port Palmeira.
