I wish this was my writing station- currently I’m at the table covered in chips It has been 204 days since my last blog. I beat myself up for not writing. I told myself if I published two the next time, it would be ok. Then a month went by. Now, here we are. 204 days later. I came up with so many ideas; wrote about half of them. Circling back to one of my first posts, ‘Crafting isn’t Perfect’ introduces you to some of my mental health struggles. I worry and obsess over too much, and this blog was supposed to help me with that. Crafting and creating do help. But ultimately, it became overwhelmi ..read more

It’s been one week since I ‘launched’ my order form for the toddler playwear. It has been a hectic two weeks! One week of prep and another managing orders. My site and my Instagram were never really intended to be a sales page. That’s not my strength. I wanted to showcase the things I make and sell, but where do the sales come from? Inevitably my Instagram would also have to be a place to generate sales. However, up until now, I didn’t have a primary product. I make and sell a lot of things, probably too many different products. Social media experts always say to niche down. I find this very ..read more

Last weekend was Easter (I also skipped posting a new post last week, sorry guys!) Tecumseh was at this dad’s for Easter morning and Kateri is still too young to understand the Easter bunny thing. I did try to make the day and morning nice for us. One of Kateri’s special gifts was an update to her sensory bin. Her original sensory bin was a customized rice bin from Sprout Kit Play I bought back in February. I thought it was pretty and Kateri liked pouring things. She was obsessed with pouring water from one container to another and I was tired of walking in puddles. Kateri went nuts for it; s ..read more

“You should start a blog” I’ve heard that message so many times. I would laugh it off. This message came from so many different people and it got louder throughout my maternity leave. I used to message people about sewing ideas or baking questions. I’m in too many Facebook groups to count, that provide some of the best resources for blog topics. Still, I never pictured myself writing a blog. I have read hundreds of blogs: Cricut, sewing, baking, home DIYs. A lot of people get annoyed when they search for a recipe and have to sift through paragraphs of text before the actual recipe. I am not o ..read more

I danced at a small studio in Alberta for 10 years. The studio’s seamstress made hundreds of costumes for us and I still have no idea how she got it all done. I remember times where we had a competition in 2 days and she showed up with 10 beautiful costumes, perfectly sewn. Ms. Cindy was sewing goals. Sewing was always my favorite hobby. I started sewing Barbie clothes when I was little. As a teen, I tried sewing dance costumes. Ms. Cindy made sewing knits look easy. This past week I have begun the task of planning and testing sewing patterns for my first ever toddler clothes collection. It ..read more
