Arona is finalising preparations for the XXIV edition of the Las Galletas Half Marathon on Sunday, September 26th, with strict security measures in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. The test, which takes place in the urban circuit of the nucleus of Las Galletas, is registered in the national calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and runs through an approved circuit. The route goes through the TF 6222, TF 6225 and TF 6221 roads in Las Galletas – Arona – and will be closed to traffic. The Las Galletas Half Marathon 2020 which was to have been held on Sunday, April 5th has been postponed. Arona Council has announced the popular event will now take place on September 26th and 27th. The decision has been taken due to the coronavirus crisis with a view to protecting public health. The council says it didn’t want to make the date any earlier than September as it anticipates that the declaration of a State of Emergency ordered on March 14th for 15 days is likely to be extended.
