Ever since I decided to go all in on my mission to help mums embrace new technology and make their first dollar online, every day has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Every day I have felt out of my comfort zone. Every day I have wondered wtf am I doing. Every day imposter syndrome hovers over me. But somehow, I have mustered the inner strength to ignore these feelings, and do it anyway. Since January 2024, when I stopped taking on freelance work, I have been averaging $1300 in revenue per month. This is without any systems in place. Without a product suite. My email list has grown by 333 ..read more

Revelation: There is no ‘how’…

“If there was one framework that worked for everybody, everybody would be successful.” “Why is it that two people can do the exact same thing and get different results?” This was the crux of a recent energetics masterclass I listened to by business coach Shoshanna Raven. You can have a recipe and follow it to the T, but if you don’t have that sense of understanding about what you are cooking, and when it’s best to switch the oven off, the result may not be what you expected it to be. It may be better. It may be worse! If you really don’t want to be cooking, that will be reflected in the t ..read more

I haven’t done one of these in a while, and never have I posted my candid video chats with the mums I interview. So here goes! This issue of Working Mum Wisdom interviews Ayesha Mustafa, corporate woman turned entrepreneur and mum to a 9-year old. Also, it’s a special interview because Ayesha and I used to work together, maybe 15 years ago! Thanks to the internet and me always on the look out to speak to inspiring mums, we reconnected for this interview and also met up in Dubai! I love my newsletter for connecting me to incredible women, and giving me the opportunity to tell their story. Me ..read more

This image was created in 2 minutes using Midjourney. I uploaded a picture of me and asked it to create a picture showing me thinking about technology. Hmmm… Everyone is trying to get their head around artificial intelligence (AI). What exactly is it? Do I need to use it? (Yes!! :) How can I use it? What does it mean for me? What does it mean for my kids? What does it mean for our future? What does it mean for humanity? Trying to answer these questions for yourself can send you into a deep and dark rabbit hole. Ask me, I have been there many times. Type in Google “What is the future of AI” a ..read more

Welcome to all the new subscribers of this newsletter! I am a working mum of 2 who recently quit her 9-5 to pursue redesigning her life to have a fulfilling career that also gives her time and financial freedom. In this newsletter, I share my journey towards this goal with a focus on productivity, transitioning out of a 9-5 and of course, parenting. I also share a lot about emerging technology (like AI, web3, no code) as I believe that it will be a key enabler for us in achieving our goals in the minimum time possible. I am so happy you are here! I am a writer at heart and I hope you enjoy rea ..read more

After a restful last week of December 2023, I have gone full throttle on my own projects this month. It’s only January and I have: Done a live workshop, recorded 2 podcasts, will be recording 2 more next month. (I will let you know when they are out!) Connected with other mum communities in Dubai. I am presenting about AI at events for all of them; one tomorrow and 2 in the first week of February, and one in April! Started building a new website. I’m moving from Wordpress to Squarespace, and I am loving how easy it is to build in Squarespace. (I have not outsourced anything, yet) Co ..read more

The truth about time.

As a working mum with 2 small children, I have always felt like a victim of time. Time is scarce and it’s running away from me. My daughter was down with a tummy big for the last 3 days. Although I chose to put work aside and spend that time with her, there was a gnawing thought at the back of my head that I am going to be so far behind my work schedule for the week. I am over 40-years old with so many aspirations, dreams and goals, I have so much going on all the time, there are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done! I am always feeling like: My time is limited and prec ..read more

It’s that time of year where finally I am able to take a step back, enjoy the sunshine and breathe. So much has happened since I left my 9-5 in June: I started freelancing, and have billed over AED60,000 since August (~ $16,300). I wrote, illustrated, designed and published two children’s books using AI. I was amazed by the result so I decided to teach others who might be interested. And so I launched my first online workshop on how to create, illustrate, design and publish a children’s book using AI in 90 minutes, and sold 24 seats that made me ~ $1000. I’m afraid to do the math on ..read more

A little bit of COP28 & a little bit of Christmas!

Your’s truly from an unusually quiet COP28 day Hello friends, I'm writing to you today from the United Nations Conference for Climate Change COP28. I have been lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy this global conference as a journalist, for a change! (Usually I am the one managing the journalists) I am writing for Triple Pundit, and you can see my current and upcoming stories here.  It's been quite an eye opening conference, on many fronts. It's such a mammoth event, so if you are not intentional about what you are doing here, it's easy to be overwhelmed and lost.  Climate c ..read more
