Our Christmas series is titled “Looking Forward to Christmas”. It has us looking back to Jesus’ arrival and looking forward to His return. Christmas gives us the opportunity to look back to what happened in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago, that arrival of a baby named Jesus, and how it has changed history forever. We are Jesus’ apprentices. The term apprentice is to be used as a synonym of disciple. Many people think of a disciple as a mere follower. The word apprentice forces us to look beyond the simple act of following and moves us into ideas of training and preparation to continue in the work that Jesus is beginning.
