Hi, I literally made an account on here just to ask for help with my betta I got from petco. I cannot tell if he has fin rot, body rot, or just fin loss due to stress. I plan to add him to a 15 gal with neon tetras, but I’ve heard fin rot can spread so I don’t want to risk it until I can see he’s healing. Hello everyone, I have a betta in need of some help. And its kind of sad. It started out I only had him for a day when he cut off one of his pectoral fins right in half. He is a elephant ear betta. Hello all. This betta was marketed as a juvenile male at Petco. I hope it is what they actually say it is. Does anyone know how old the Imagitarium "Baby Boy" and "Baby Girl" bettas generally are when they reach the store shelves? I would say this fish is roughly 1.25-1.5 inches from snout to fin-tip, and I was told the colors would come in better as it matured. Can anyone help me determine the age? Striped betta? Nevermind. Googled it. I just got 3 female bettas to start restocking due to my lost ones. Lighting wasn't great and I wasn't sure of color. Just thought it looked dark. I had 5 females bettas in a community tank. (29 gal, established for years). 2 days after a cleaning it was still a bit milky. I added water clarifier late at night. The next morning all 5 betta were dead. None of the other tetras, catfish or pleco had any problem. Does anyone know if there is something in the water clarifier that is problematic for betta? I have read talk about putting in dividers. With dividers, if the males can see each other won't they spend a lot of time stressed. Will this shorten their life. If dividers has holes for water flow, then don't you have to have failrly high flow? Are dividers in a big tank better than say 5.5 gal with solid paper between the tanks?
