In this series, I have considered Albert C. Grzesinksi’s  (ACG) book, Inside Germany.  Published in 1939, it is a fascinating account of the Nazi takeover of Germany that brought the world to the brink of disaster.  In light of reading that book and reflecting on our own times, what are some takeaway points to consider as preachers? 1. Only one message can change hearts It is not a political message nor driven by headlines in the newspapers or social media.  It is the message of the Gospel, and it comes from the Bible.  We must preach the gospel as loud and clear as po ..read more

The French Bible Society, along with several Christian sporting ministries, will distribute 200,000 New Testaments during the Olympic and Paralympic games in Paris. They had originally planned to give away 100,000 French and 30,000 English copies of the New Testaments but had to increase the the print run “as demand was greater”. They are now distributing 140,000 copies in French and 60,000 in English, “in the hope that they will leave a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the athletic arenas”. That distribution will be free and carried out by “teams from associations and churches who will ..read more

Families who have fled from Syria to Turkey often suffer great hardship and insecurity. Not only have they had to leave all their belongings behind in their home country, they also have to fear deportation back to the war zones. At the same time, many fathers try to build a new future for themselves and their families on the European continent on their own, leaving their wives and children behind in Turkey for the time being. As a result, the family members remaining in Turkey face even greater financial hardship and often have to be provided with the bare necessities. In the midst of this sit ..read more
