ROGER ENO ~ The Turning Year I am already familiar with a few of these tracks so had a pretty good idea of what to expect. Roger Eno is a master of minimalism without going entirely naked; somehow, while exercising restraint - no wait – revelling in it, he manages to infuse his work with warmth and heart. I do SO love the strings, and when they appear, they are very beautifully placed. Another album that is due for release fairly shortly. It's called 4 Hands and is just that - the four hands of both gentleman on piano - nothing else. No idea where to put it - this seems like the best fit. Might be a bit of a departure for Hans Joachim Roedelius - and for Tim Story, considering they're both electronica wizzes. I like a couple of Roedelius's albums - very interesting stuff, but I can't claim to have an in-depth understanding of his work - or Story's for that matter.
