Spring is FINALLY here in New York City! After a loooong winter which felt like forever, spring is finally here in New York City! Cherry blossoms are at its full bloom. Because we New Yorkers did not get to enjoy the spring due to the citywide lockdown last year, spring feels especially amazing this year. ながーいニューヨークの冬がついに終わり、美しい桜の季節がやっとやって来ました!去年の春はロックダウン真っ最中で、全くお花見を楽しむことができなかったので、今年のセントラルパークの美しさが一層心にしみてきます♪ My kids and I spent a whole day in Central Park to enjoy a beautiful sunny spring day. My Home Birth Story (In One Bedroom Apartment)

I am that crazy mom. I had a home birth. Not by accident, I planned it because I wanted it. In our one-bedroom apartment. “Whaaaaat!?” or “Woooow!” are the usual comments I get from people. I understand why. When I heard about home birth for the first time, I thought it was a wild idea, too. Then I did it. Turns out home birth really isn’t as crazy and wild as it could sound. If I was to pick one word to describe my experience, it was “simple”. It was all about letting the baby be born and trusting that your body knows how to do it. Everything happened at the comfort of our own home throu ..read more

True or False? 3 Reasons Why I Was Scared to Live in New York City as a Mom

On the second day I moved to Manhattan, someone yelled “Jesus Christ!” behind me just because I stopped suddenly on the street. I thought, “What in the world?! How would you get so angry with such a minor incident?”. After living in New York City for the past six months, I kind of get this man now. I broke the first and the most important rule on the streets of Manhattan; DON’T STOP! Don’t stop no matter what happens in the middle of the street of Manhattan. Stick to your lane, step on it, keep your speed, and don’t yield. That’s how you walk here. It sounds like driving because walking on the ..read more

Planning to visit this museum with your toddler(s)? You will LOVE it because this is one of the most kid-friendly museums in Washington D.C. (See my other post about toddler-friendly museums in D.C.) and this museum surely has so much to offer. But it could be a bit overwhelming if you try to see EVERYTHING, especially if you’re with your little ones. In order to have a happy, boredom/tantrum-free, fun museum experience, the key is to keep it quick and interesting! Usually, I try to keep our stay under 2-2.5 hours. So, I am going to suggest my top 5 must-see spots in this museum with your todd ..read more

How to Enjoy Stroller Runs Even If You Don’t Like Running – 5 Hints from a Couch Potato Mom

I used to HATE running I always wondered WHY some people love running. I always felt like my body was too heavy for it and I never found any fun in doing it. Like the title says, I was more of a couch potato mom. Actually, it is still me but I’m now a couch potato mom who runs How? Because I found stroller runs. Running with a stroller was a whole different experience from running on my own. It was easier, fun and stress-free. Running was not a torture anymore, it was more of just a  stroll around the neighborhood with my lovely (most of the time) baby. And to my surprise, my baby s ..read more

Smithsonian National Postal Museum with My 1 yr-old Toddler

Low-key Fun with Your Little Ones in the Historic Building Postal Museum is usually pretty quiet and easy to enjoy the peaceful space without a big crowd and the bustle like some other super popular museums on the Mall. It is located right outside of Union Station. It was the first Smithsonian Museum I went with my baby. Our first time there was when she was about 6 months old. I thought it was perfect for her because the museum was quiet and she was able to enjoy some nap in her sling while I explored this historic building. We still love visiting this hidden gem even at 20 months. She ..read more

The Cherry Blossom Festival has started, and that means that the best time of the year in D.C. is here! To properly start the celebration, we went to check out the Free Lunch Time Concert: The 6821 Quintet at National Gallery of Art last week. Classic concert with a toddler? Am I crazy? Yes, maybe a little bit. But I didn’t want to miss this chance to give my 20-months old lady to enjoy a live classical music for the first time in her life. I mean, how often do you get to find a concert with internationally-renowned musicians during the daytime that is free and without age-restriction a ..read more

Which museum should you visit with your (wobbly) walking toddler? My favorite activity with my toddler in DC is definitely the visits to Smithsonian Museums. I feel like it is one of the best things about living on the Hill because all the museums are so accessible. We take full advantage of the public transportation system such as the Streetcar and Metro and enjoy the museums that are mostly free of charge! I’ve been taking her to the museums since she was about 6 months old. Our favorites changed as she grew older, but today I’m going to write about our most recent favorites at the age of 20 ..read more

I have compiled a list of things to do with babies/toddlers on the Hill and beyond. This neighborhood has tons of fun activities for our little one and many of the Smithsonian Museums are accessible by public transportation that you can take your stroller with. It took me a while to figure out regular go-to spots. I hope this list can be useful for new moms in the neighborhood. This list includes Smithsonians, local libraries, playgroups, parks and recreation centers, hang-out spots, a guide to public transportations and so on. If there is anything that I am missing, I’d love to hear from y ..read more

The National Portrait Gallery

We love the National Portrait Gallery and its beautiful architecture. The tranquil courtyard is full of light and has such a serene vibe in contrast to the busy streets of Chinatown just outside of the gallery. It got much more popular these days after the portraits of Obama’s came here earlier this year, but it still offers enough room for our babies and toddlers on the Hill to enjoy! We usually take the metro, Red Line from Union Station to Gallery Place Station. The elevator from the platform takes you to the 7th Street, where you can find the gallery right outside of the elevator by Capito ..read more
