In early December 2022, Amanda Bradley tried a case in tribal court that implicated the parental rights of a mother. The trial involved some complex facts, including that the mother is incarcerated and has been for nearly two years. She was accused of not paying child support for that period of time. Facing these challenges, Amanda went to work. At trial, she demonstrated the mother's efforts to rehabilitate and support her child, even while in prison. Against all odds, Amanda prevailed and the client's parental rights remain intact. A few months prior, Kathleen Egan faced a similar challenge ..read more

Although divorce decrees and other court orders often exceed twenty pages, mediation agreements and judicial decisions are often just one or two pages long. This is because settlements and orders made by a judge tend to capture the major items in dispute. One of the attorneys will be assigned to create the initial dra ..read more

Throughout the timeline of a family law case, the issues are shaped and defined in several ways. The litigants, and their attorneys, can reach partial agreements and stipulations. The judge can make non-permanent, non-appealable temporary orders affecting the rights and obligations of the parties. In most cases, by the time of trial, the court file contains a number of documents that spell out and even limit the disputes to be decided by the judge at the conclusion of the trial.  Attorneys call this "the law of the case." Non-appealable, temporary, or interim orders, can have an extreme ..read more

Early in 2022, our office was contacted by the U.S. Department of State to assist a foreign national with the return of a minor child from Oklahoma. The child had traveled to the United States with the other parent for a short trip, then, on arrival, the traveling parent refused to return the child to its home country. How to Answer Bad Questions
Bundy Law Blog

Trials involve witness testimony from a question-and-answer format. There is usually only one trial for a given case. Due to time constraints and other factors, time in the courtroom seems to move faster than usual.
