264 Win Mags - When would the brass cases be considered "Fire Formed" for each individual action?

I have two different 264's one the Remington Model 721 late 50's or early 60's, and the other I just had custom-made with a titanium action and a 26" Proof Research Barrel. I keep the brass separate because I know the chambers will be slightly different. the correct ammunition 721 shoots 1/2", the newer shoots sub 1/4" consistently. These are both shooting custom-loaded ammunition and I want to get into the reloading game myself now. How many firings for each brass do I need to have true... Read more ..read more

If you do a pressure test at 90* air temp and 2500' elevation, would that test hold true at 90* and 6400' elevation? In your opinion, does air density affect pressure any, same or more than temperature? Thanks for your comments ..read more

Just picked up a custom 03-A3 with a Douglas barrel in 338-06AI. Anybody willing to share some starting load data for 180gr to 225gr bullets? I was thinking BL-C(2) for 180gr class bullets and 4350 for 200+gr as a starting point. Also, any tips on fire forming would be helpful. Do I need to anneal cases before expanding? Thanks for any help. There isn't a lot of info out there that I can find ..read more

Remington Large Rifle Magnum Primer Issues

I bought 1K of Remington LRM primers at a show. I have been trying to develop 7 PRC loads and work on my 7 Rem Meg simultaneously. Of the 20 loads I made, nine failed to fire. I pulled the loads and found the primers unfired. I called Remington and they claimed since I bought them at a show, there was zero warranty. They felt the seller could have stored them improperly. Okay. So, I tracked down more LRM primers at a shop in Phoenix, which turned out to be Remington. I gritted my teeth and... Read more ..read more

Wife has been dragging me to estate sales for the last couple years. Never find anything, usually a bunch of crap. Well this morning it paid off. Hit a pretty good stash of reloading items. Picked up a couple hundred 22 cal bullets, several hundred primers, lead shot in all different sizes from buck to #9s, a bucket full of primed 30-30 brass, a pound of H4895 and 2 boxes of 30 cal. All that for $50!! I ended up leaving more than I took. There were 7 or 8 die sets, a couple Lee... Read more ..read more
