Those bezels aren't hard to remove, it's just plastic pawls around the perimeter. I'd use a finger. Yep you were right. The front plastic cover is damaged, broken so I'll be transferring some parts from the original to this one but I was able to get my finger in there and flip that needle to 0 and that's where she stayed. I'm a happy camper. Statistics: Posted by ManzanoNissan — Thu Apr 18, 2024 12:18 pm ..read more

Asian blue (HOAT) and asian green (IAT) are completely miscible. It's entirely safe to mix them or to switch from one to the other. The major performance differences are that HOAT has longer life and is more resistant to pump cavitation. Thank you. Also, for the automatic transmission fluid, I was going to buy valvoline multi-import full synthetic fluid. It says on the bottle it is compatible with Nissan matic D and matic k. However, I am being told at the store it cannot work on my vehicle and only the valvoline max life atf will work. Here is a link to the product: https://shop.advanceauto ..read more

That sounds like maybe a connection issue and not a bad alternator. However, alternators whose regulators are going south frequently die intermittently. Because the power disappears gradually as the battery drops off, there are often no codes. Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Thu Apr 18, 2024 10:07 am ..read more

This leads me to the obvious next step: valley of death plenum job. I'll be purchasing knock sensors in the coming days. I've OEM rocker cover gaskets that I'll be putting in as well as I've a small leak. I assume plenum gaskets will need to be purchased as well. Anything else I should look out for in the preparations for the surgery? The S1 engine (from '90-'93 in the US) didn't have rocker cover gaskets, they were sealed with RTV - I'm assuming yours is likely the same. I would plan on doing all the intake plenum seals, and replace every hose under the plenum while it's apart, they're all ..read more

Thank you for that data. A little while ago, we returned with the car. Early this AM, went up and first checked the Battery voltage, which read at 12.69 volts. Recall this died right after pulling into a parking slot in a strip mall, with dash lights blinking and would not answer to the start button after that. The car wasn't started this AM however, I went right in and pulled the 2 year battery which was 5 years old at this point. Replaced it with a Costco Interstate 3 year battery and car started right up with NO dash lights immediately, but then the BAT light came on as I was pulling out of ..read more

Is it safe to use blue coolant in this vehicle? I've always used the green coolant, however, I have two bottles of blue in my garage and was wondering if it can be used when changing my coolant. Peak blue coolant says 2009 and up for Nissan and Inifiniti. Statistics: Posted by A1218 — Thu Apr 18, 2024 8:43 am ..read more

There's a supersession on that, the reman part number is 2310M-EG010RW. It shows as available. The original p/n 23100-EG010 gets a lot of hits on eBay and Amazon. Those alternators also fit a lot of G's and a few M45's in addition to the M35. Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Thu Apr 18, 2024 7:59 am ..read more
