I recently got an HDMI converter for my gamecube and something went horribly wrong. I don't know if i hooked it up wrong or what but the damn thing fried my gamecube. It was one of those usb powered hdmi converters. I plugged in a charging cable to the USB cord then when i turned it on the power LED on the cube flickered off then it wouldn't spin the discs anymore. Apparently the charger blew a fuse because i ended up having to buy a new power board and take apart my gamecube. Anyway it's working again but I'm scared to even try another hdmi converter unless i know for sure it's not gonna fry ..read more

Game & Watch 1989

Hello there! A friend of mine came across a Game & Watch Legend of Zelda from 1989 and asked me if I would like to buy it. He found it in a weekly flee market and talked with the seller to keep it for him for one week. Now my question for you guys if if you think it's worth it? It's about 175 Euro and looks in great condition minus some scratches on both sides of the outside. I admit I don't know much about the system, looked for it online but couldn't find too much details about the game, its story and if it's any good. Taking everything into account, its condition and its place in the Ze ..read more

Looking for an old Cube Magazine Article

This is a longshot, but I'm looking for someone who has a complete collection of Cube Magazine Issues who can get me a screenshot of a specific article. The article was a list of Japanese terms used specifically for gaming, and included definitions such as: The moment when you realise you are going to be late because you have to leave sooner than you expect to complete the thing in the game you are playing. The moment when you realise you ARE late for the thing because of the reason above. The syndrome by which you see Tetris Blocks scrolling on the backs of your eyelids when you try to fall ..read more

Hi, um, Rhythm Heaven hasn't had a new game in nearly a decade. I don't know if this kind of topic is allowed, but I just need at least one person on this website to talk about Rhythm Heaven. Please delete this if this goes against the rules. So to start, here are some favorites: GBA: Toss Boys (regular), Remix 5 (remix), Sick Beats (endless) DS: Dog Ninja (regular), Remix 9 (remix), Samurai Slice (endless) Wii: See-Saw (regular), Remix 8 (remix), Munchy Monk (endless) I haven't played Megamix enough to justify favorites ..read more

So who here had a C64 back in the day? I got a C64 in 1989, and it was the very first computer and game system I ever got that my Dad got me when a workmate of his sold his C64 with hundreds of great games so he could afford an Amiga. The very first game I played on it was P.O.D. Proof of Destruction. It's not the greatest shmup on the system, Grid Runner is a better game, but I love the music in it! https://youtu.be/angmYf_oF3Y There was a copy of Pac Mania in the collection of games that came with it, I played this a lot. https://youtu.be/JUU32TKHYGA Then I played a lot of Arcade Classics wi ..read more

The resurgence of Gamecube

It's arguably more popular than ever. A console that was so maligned by anyone outside Nintendo's loyal fanbase at the time, it seems has now garnered a new level of appreciation by a whole new audience - some who maybe dismissed it in the early-to-mid 2000s in favour of the other big players. Many games themselves have skyrocketed in value, and are typically kept under lock and key in glass cabinets at most used game or thrift stores I visit, while the PS2 and original Xbox games are significantly cheaper and housed on open shelves. For a system that badly lost the console war at the time, it ..read more

So I started playing donkey kong country expecting it to play just like a 2d mario game but the monkeys handle different to mario and so I find the game more difficult. I'm guessing the yoshi island game plays differently too. Maybe I'll stick to just mario ..read more

The Legend of Zelda - The Minish Cap has been decompiled

That's right, the people over at ZeldaRET reached 100% yesterday the 11th of December. ZeldaRet are the people behind the Ocarina of Time decompilation project. They have many other decompilation projects worth keeping an eye out for. With Majora's Mask currently sitting around 92%. No this does not mean that you can play the Minish Cap on your smart fridge (Not yet anyway). The Decompilation project only aims to convert the rom (machine code) back to readable code that can be compiled into an exact copy of the original rom. That being said, with the code readable it's very likely that someone ..read more
