Noticed this while playing the disk version on original hardware earlier, then checked the NES version on Switch. This bugs me to no end, like how the title screen of Sonic 1 is off-center.
Anyone know of other stuff like this?

Hi all!
I recently replaced the belt in my FDS, which went suspiciously smoothly. I was right to be suspicious.
Now, the drive always thinks there's a disk inserted. Tries to read constantly as soon as it gets power.
Did I break something? Can you think of anything I might have done that would cause that? Thanks for any help you can offer ..read more

"The Inquisitor" is a game that got me knee deep into it's world because
1. It looks like you do some Bladerunning/Snatcher/Rise of Dragon investigation.
2. There is some meleee combat like Zelda in a world like Zelda.
3. The world is literally like some bad-arse "Berserker", detective, thing.
But there is an actual world.
You walk around the world, filled with horny girls, who are clearly comming and
going standing still. Different age ranges and healths.
The entire game is literally what Morel Orel ( from "Morel Orel" ) would be playing right now.
It is the perfect game for somebody who c ..read more

Hello! I'm an old member of this forum from several years ago, and revived my account to ask a few questions...
I have a SNES PowerPak that I bought roughly 15 years ago (yikes) that I accidentally bricked while trying to a firmware update that failed, and it no longer boots up. I did some research, and according to this forum post it looks like it can be fixed by removing the boot ROM chip (if socketed) and reflashing it with the updated firmware. I opened up the cart shell and looking at the PCB, it looks like the boot ROM chip is socketed?
Is there anyone here who has the equipment need ..read more

I recently purchased a FDS with a bunch of games and while most are fine, a few don't work (err. 22) and a few have a different game than what's on the label. I have an FDSKey and a physical disk with copying software on it, but my FDS can't write. I'd be glad to pay if someone who's experienced with this could help.
Thanks ..read more

My sons are getting old enough that they enjoy watching pro wrestling these days. New, old, whatever they can, especially gimmick matches get them riled up. This got us busting out wrestling games. They enjoyed the N64 Aki games the most to play, but my oldest boy has gotten really into the Fire Pro Wrestling Returns custom editing on PS2.
I showed him all of my customs I made of classic WWF, and ECW guys years ago, and he had me make a Cactus Jack last night. It got me thinking: Did anyone else really get into that scene? I remember a time when there was a pretty big community doing custom b ..read more

I'm looking for a wrist- or arm-mounted terminal with all sorts of weird and wonderful cables and/or functions. Kinda like the link below, but it doesn't have to be new or top-of-the-line:

A few weeks back I started a re-play of Thief Gold from Looking Glass Studios.
Had played Thief (the original release), and then Thief Gold, long ago. I think I played Thief right at release - I remember a roommate in college downloading the demo and being amazed, and then going out and getting the full release. Then got Gold sometime thereafter ('99? 2000?) and played it again. Haven't touched it since.
Last year I played the 2014 Thief and was underwhelmed. The same tools (rope, water, noise arrows, etc.), but very limited places to use them and a heavy emphasis on "controllable cut-scenes ..read more

For me, probably Sonic The Hedgehog 1. If we are including SEGA Game Gear (4) and Genesis / Mega Drive (12), that is probably a total of 16 issues of the game/s including legitimate tangible and legit digital copies. That number includes compilations and mini consoles. This does not include sequels ..read more
