My mower is great beside one thing. It will not start first or even second pull. I replaced the thermowax, replace air filter, cleaned the carb bowl, and even used non ethanol gasoline. Nothing has helped with this mower to start easy. I owned several different Honda power equipment (including a Honda hrr216vka older mower) and never had any issues starting. I have a Toro Timemaster with the B&S PXi1000 engine. It was recently serviced. Changed the oil, replaced the fuel filter, spark plug and air filter and installed an hour meter. It was working fine afterwards. Last time I used it ran out of gas, but after filling up took at least 20 pulls to get started and then only ran for 10 - 15 minutes before shutting off. It took another 10 or so pulls to get it started and then again shut off after about 10 minutes. The second time it immediately fired back up when I pulled the cord. It’s had times before where it wants to quit but usually goes away. So i replaced the half sheared flywheel key and now it wont even run five minutes. Im guessing it’s finally gunked up from years of ethanol gas. Ideas? Shut the fuel off and try running it? I don’t understand why that clears it up but another post here suggested it. Bought a new cub cadet ride on last year. I left the battery in the mower and just kept it in my garage. Prob been about 4/5 months since used it.
