How do I check to see if my plants need added nutrients? The LFS sold me on flourish Excel and flourish nitrogen. In addition to my normal fertilizer and root tabs. But now I'm regretting the purchase. How do I know what the plants need? Here are my java ferns and Amazon swords. The tank is about 2.5 months old. 10 gallon. 1 beta fish. 1 nerite snail. Heater at 78. Sponge filter. Ph 7.8 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrate 15-20 Hardness of city water is SUPER HIGH. submitted by /u/Various_Reality_3 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The rings have since been cleared to just let light through. Just kind of fumbling my way through while researching. Tech so far is a heater, air stone, filter, new light. Last picture is day 2. submitted by /u/skrimpytank [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Could you use Wild moss for an aquarium?

Would it be possible to use any of this moss fully submerged in a aquarium? It's mostly growing above ground but it looks like it's also growing submerged in water although it's covered in mud/silt from the flowing water. If it's possible to use this moss what would be the proper steps to take to clean it and insure no unwanted pests/diseases left on it? submitted by /u/ILiveForDeadMemes [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
