I recently planted some Rotala narrow leaf sp red stems that were grown emersed and they are growing really well. The main stem isn’t doing much but I’ve been able to snip of 8 side shoots from them and replant them. The main stems themselves aren’t looking real great as to be expected the embedded grown leaves are melting and getting covered in some hair algae, the side shoots that have grown and are growing off of them look great though. I have a question about Oxygen in the tank. Does aquatic plants consume oxygen in the water when the lights are off? It has been discussed many times over here and other places that the ADA system is a lot of hype. We know their aquasoil is top of the line but the powersand, additives etc are maybe a bit gimmicky. I have been fighting this for the past two or three months. Plants will grow very well for awhile and then they start getting covered by these black spots which eventually spread across the whole leaf and then the leaf will melt over the next week.
