My 16 year old Apple Airport Extreme finally bit the dust. I was using it as wifi repeater with hardrive connected as a small network storage device as we have a faster router but it has no USB port. Does anyone know of a wifi repeater that has a USB port so I could continue using my current setup? Some routers can be used as a repeater and have a USB port but that seems like overkill but it is hard to find one that can be used as a repeater. Thanks for any help ..read more

Hey there! So, I ditched Xfinity for Verizon Fios and got a free extender and a MoCA Ethernet Adapter. Now, I've got this NETGEAR Nighthawk Modem WiFi Router Combo C7000 sitting. Think this will work with MoCA Adapter to fix the dead spots upstairs and in the garage? If yes, how do I hook it up? If not, got any other ideas for getting Wi-Fi out there using the MoCA? Thank you ..read more

Just picked up a meta quest 3. It will wirelessly connect to my pc with Virtual Desktop, but wont connect to Steam, or Questlink. Tried everything in their troubleshooting list. Its safe to say my Spectrum supplied router is not cutting it., They supply both a modem and a router, separate units. I dont have any info on them, but I think its WIF 2 , Steam is calling for WIFI 5 minimum, 6 recomended. I know nothing about this, so I'd like help buying a new router thats compatible with spectrum, and how to set it up, to dedicate a ton of bandwidth to Metaquest. Im thinking of going to Spectrum t ..read more

I just moved to a new house and set up my PC in the basement with the WIFI router 1 floor up on the main lvl. At my last house i was in the same room as the wifi and was getting around 180 mbps. I am now only getting about 19 mbps. i know that being on a different floor may be an issue but my S24 ultra is on the desk next to pc and has full strength and is getting 270mbps. We just replaced the modem and wifi router (both from charter spectrum) when we moved in. My pc is less than a year old. I have updated that BIOS and tried a wifi extender and got the exact same results with both my pc and p ..read more

I have multiple devices on Wi-Fi in my RV. I’d like to connect all my devices to an access point and then somehow connect my mobile hotspot to the access point or connected to the local Wi-Fi so I only have to update the wifi info once. I bought this tp link extender which also has access point mode. https://a.co/d/0tkEPYt Is there a better way of doing this ..read more

Recommendations for a USB wireless adapter ?

I need a recommendation for a wireless adapter. Preferably USB rather than internal, but I’ll consider anything. Some connect by cable, some connect directly into the USB port. Lots of them at Amazon and Newegg; from around 15 on up to over 100. Doesn’t have to be latest and greatest. Just compatible with an aging Windows 10 PC. I see some have antennas and some just look like a small flash drive, no bigger than a jelly bean. Do I need antennas? I don’t need much range, just reliable and simple. Usage will be within 10 or 20 feet of a PC and its wireless enabled router. Won’t be used constan ..read more
