It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our friend and long-time Boston Terrier Rescue Canada volunteer, Brigitte Thompson, on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Brigitte was passionate about rescue and an incredible advocate for BTRC and many other organizations working to save animals in need. Always generous with her time, Brigitte would help in any way she could, from fundraising to fostering. She was also a rescue ‘road warrior’, transporting countless dogs, starting them on their rescue journey to new loving families.
Brigitte and her husband Morris were also adopters. Two BTR ..read more

It’s never two late to show your love for dogs or tacos (or each other)!
I had BIG plans for Taco Tuesday! In February, Taco Tuesday was a major, global event of epic proportions: It fell on the 22cnd day of the 22nd month of the year ending in 22. So, the date was 22/2/22, or 2/22/22, depending on where you live. It was also the month after National Train Your Dog Month, and just TWO days after National Love Your Pet month in the US! It was twofer festival surrounded by dog events! I was going to mention twofer Tuesdays on radio stations, and toonie Tuesdays at movie theatres. I was going to ..read more

I don’t recall anyone ever giving me tacos for Halloween, but if anyone had, I would probably still be going out trick of treating every year. I think most of us think of tacos as a treat, which is why it’s the only food with ..read more
