Madison & Jake’s Longview Mansion wedding literally checked all the boxes for the perfect summery celebration: vibrant color palette? check gorgeous outdoor countryside venue? check timeless details? check epic wedding party? check moments set aside just for family? check To say this day was perfect would be an understatement. Something I love so much about estate weddings is the ease they bring to the day. With everything in one place, there’s hardly any room for stressful logistics. Which means more room for couples and their families to stay present on this whirlwind of a day! Madiso ..read more

If you recall, Sarah & Adam’s first date lasted 14 hours. So it’s no surprise that they turned their wedding celebration into a two-day affair to remember! And they filled nearly every moment with unforgettable surprises for their guests. On Friday, the couple brought together their closest friends and family for their rehearsal on the west lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Both Sarah & Adam are avid patrons of the arts, so it was only fitting that they host their wedding celebration at Kansas City’s largest art museum. But this was no rehearsal Just after Sarah walked down the aisle ..read more

One of my favorite perks of being a wedding photographer is when I get to reconnect with past bridesmaids and sisters-of-brides to photograph their own weddings. Shaeffer is both of these things! She’s actually the beloved sister of Taran, who got married earlier this year. I will have the distinct pleasure of photographing the second Smith wedding next year in Chicago! But first, it was time to create some magic for Shaeffer & Adam at their engagement session There’s no other place than Chicago that would have made sense for S&A’s engagement session (and ultimately their wedding). It ..read more

What do you get when you take the sweetest couple, toss in their good boi Cisco, mix in a little sunrise haze, and set it down in one of the most photogenic spots in all of Central Park? You get Hana & Robb’s engagement session And guys, this is a special one. I met Hana & Robb through pure kismet back in 2021 when I photographed Hana’s sister Dina’s wedding. I wasn’t Dina and her husband Tony’s original photographer, but fate (and hey we can thank COVID for this too) brought us together. Their wedding day was an absolute joy to be a part of, and I sincerely hoped my journey with Dina ..read more

Caylee & Anthony’s engagement session was absolutely picture perfect! After capturing a few images outside the couple’s soon-to-be wedding venue (The Hilton President downtown), the pair changed outfits and headed to the Nelson-Atkins Museum to capture their love throughout the museum’s sprawling sculpture garden. Caylee wore the most perfect gown that I immediately went home and shopped for myself. I am so lucky to have the most stylish couples! Have you ever seen a cuter pair of middle school sweethearts than Caylee & Anthony? Okay, I’ll admit that they didn’t start actually dating i ..read more

Abbey & Ben at The Abbott

There’s a lot I could say about Abbey & Ben’s beautiful June wedding day. It was elegant, timeless, and beautifully detailed. The wedding mass was touching. The Abbott was impeccably decorated. But those details don’t even scratch the surface. What matters most about Abbey & Ben’s wedding day was the way it made you feel. From the moment I walked into Abbey’s pre-ceremony suite I was greeted with hugs, excitement, and repeated invitations to get a permanent friendship bracelet. (Abbey treated her bridesmaids to this fun memory!) After about the third urging I gave into my temptations ..read more

What’s a good sign that you’ve just had your last first date ever? It lasts 14 hours! That’s just how it was for Sarah & Adam on their first date last August. And the two haven’t looked back since. Now they spend their hours jet setting across the world, supporting the local arts (Sarah and I bonded over our love for the KC Ballet and Symphony!) and dining out at some of Kansas City’s best restaurants. Their engagement session was just as elegant as them. We began it at Loose Park’s iconic Rose Garden. Not to be outdone by the new spring blooms around her, Sarah wore a beautiful floral dre ..read more

What happens when you lock eyes with your soul mate in your freshman year of college? You wait Taran & Joe knew early on that they were going to end up spending their lives together. They bonded over their love for their large families, similar musical tastes, their religious upbringings, and so much more. But instead of jumping into marriage right away, Taran & Joe took their time. In fact, they didn’t even start dating right away! They waited until later in the school year to make things official. They waited over three years after their graduation to say “I do” to each other. And ..read more

This is the story of an outdoorsy girl from Mission Hills and an outdoorsy boy from Cleveland. Generational ties brought both Caroline & Riley to KU, where their social circles intertwined. At first they were mutual friends, then next door neighbors, and eventually after graduation, they were dating. As Riley’s dad said during his toast on Saturday, wishes aren’t granted by genies in the Deeter family. They’re granted by Coleman lanterns. And that homage to the humble camping lantern about sums up what brought Caroline & Riley together. It’s no surprise that their outdoorsy adventurou ..read more
