I bought the Huk Tubular Lock pick set on amazon. The 7.8 fits and impression, but no wiggling, jiggling, or bumping has picked it open. What am I doing wrong? All the video online showed it was easy with the picks. Statistics: Posted by Shame Ranger — Sat Apr 20, 2024 11:31 pm — Replies 0 — Views 240 ..read more

I will be posting periodically on the groups that meetup in Texas. There are 3 solid groups that have been meeting for years, and 2 up and coming groups, all within Texas. One in particular is the Longhorn Lockpickers, they started in 2007 and never stopped! Good evening, members. Wanted to pass along some sad news. Mr Wizard, a long time member here and a locksmith with many decades of experience has passed on. His wife asked me to put the word out on the forums. Mr. Wizard had a lifelong love of magic tricks and slight of hand. That is how he got the handle fo Mr. Wizard. He always was ready to perform a trick. He also had tons of experience with locks. How far back does he go with locks? His teacher for his Best certification class was Frank Best's son. As many of you know, he was always willing to give helpful advise to those who sought to ..read more

Hello team, I hope I struck gold when I found this forum. I am in need of some expert advice please. Unfortunately, I snapped my key in my locinox gate lock cylinder. I have attempted to use tweezers to pull the remainder out, but to no avail. Pliers are too big and a magnet is too weak. It is very much stuck and I am quite sure I'll need to replace the cylinder. But how? I cannot find an explanation anywhere or a tutorial video on this particular model I have. There is not easy access to simply remove the cylinder out. My only idea is drilling the cylinder out and pulling the lock, but t ..read more

This Old (or unusual) Lock • USPS arrow lock

These are used by the United States Post Office on residential mailboxes. The delivery driver uses this lock to gain access to the whole grid of mailboxes. They are rather hard to obtain, so I figured it may be of interest to show the insides. It's an 8 lever lock. The levers in this particular one are stamped with numbers 5, 6, 7, 8 with number 8 having no cut (i.e., corresponding to the deepest cut of the key). So I'd say it's reasonable to assume they can use depths in the range 1-8. It's against federal law for the manufacturer to give these to anyone other than the post office (18 U.S ..read more

Uber-Noob • CNC proprietary key ?

Recently the lock on one of our properties needed replacing, but the company went bust during the pandemic. Moreover, the manufacturer that made the blanks went bust as well. SO all that remains are the clients, which were bought up and will have to migrate over time. The trouble is that the key is a proprietary one, so you can see the issue. Out of pure interest, in such a situation, could the key be scanned in 3D and then a CNC'd copy be made ? The company was Market Lock & Safe: Statistics: Posted by nemop3 — Mon Oct 09, 2023 10:51 am — Replies 2 — Views 19 ..read more
