Hy gents, Got a 12k H JD 6600, with a powerquad and 5 speed range TXM, as far as range module concerns no problem at all, same for 4 speed power shift. Whatever goes wrong with it, its on the FWD/ RWD shutle. Specially FWD. It does not engage well, specially if clutch pedal is depressed. RWD engages well either with clutch depressed or not. Shutle lever is on right side, and park position on the range lever. BTW, it quit starting from key. But after this situation started to come along. Of... Read more ..read more

Hi all, first of all, Happy New Year for everyone! Today checked one John Deere 6600 tractor, 6cyl 110hp engine, Powerquad Seemed rather nice, though cleaned well So maybe someone has had some experience with them or next 6800 model? anything particular to look for to understand the condition. Seemed to fire up a bit reluctantly, though its slightly below zero these days. So far, HEF has been of great help, fingers crossed if someone could shed some light, or point where to... Got a call from a customer the other day and have been tinkering on this tractor since. I would appreciate any advice from anyone with experience on this engine. Engine runs, idles fine. Idle is a bit rough. When throttling engine up slowly engine runs very rough, sounds and behaves similar to air in fuel. When snapping throttle quickly it seems to sound fine revving up. Checked pressure and fuel flow at line to water separator from tank, my fuel gauge shows vacuum as well. Gauge read... Read more ..read more

No idea on hours, drained coolant to pull intercooler for changing exhaust gaskets. Coolant looks terrible, green. I have suggested replacing with either DCA based, or ELC to keep things in shape. Owner is concerned changing coolants will promote seal failure. I guess I've heard it before, water pump mainly, but what is the right answer ..read more

Hello, My bearings went bad on my 8x6 berkeley and eventually the pump wore through the brass plate on the outer housing of the pump 8" discharge and ate through the impeller. It was a slow death and I knew it was coming. The only thing keeping the impeller centered was the flax packing which needed to be replaced weekley. I found a used Berkeley 8x6 pump with a 13.5" impeller which has been turned down to 12.5 inches. I'm running a 137hp Perkins diesel sae #3 bell. I purchased the... Read more ..read more

Hi again,I have a 1D81c Hartz diesel engine in a silencer cover engine that has a leaking fuel feed lift pump that keeps the fuel system primed. I have a replacement part fuel feed lift pump to install but this potentially looks a bit challenging as there are fuel pipes that look like they could be in the road and restricting the removal of the old fuel feed lift pump.especially the one that goes to the injector pump.the top mounting bolt for the fuel feed lift pump looks very difficult to... My Dad has a 2004 John Deere 5103 that keeps blowing the seals on the power steering cylinder. Does anyone have access to the pressure spec for the power steering? I’m thinking maybe the relief valve is bad. The John Deere dealer refuses to provide the information. Any help would be greatly appreciated ..read more

Kubota DPF regen cycles
Heavy Equipment Forums - Agricultural Equipment

I have a question hopefully @Ridinhigh1500 can answer although others are welcome to chime in too. I have a Kubota L4060 utility tractor (about 2 years old). It has what I consider to be frequent DPF regen cycles, every 20-25hrs or so. I understand that operating conditions play a large role in the regen periods. I typically warm the engine up for 5 mins at 1k rpms before use and let it cool similarly before shutdown. During operation I run at around 2k rpm and “idle down” to 1.5k rpm... Read more ..read more
