Got this beautiful M1 from neighbor. His brother passed and had a nice collection of rifles. It appears to be a 5-43 Rockola with a serial # from the 1st block. I don't know much more about it other than it shoots as smooth as a new rifle. Still haven't figured out all the markings yet.

Hello, friends. When I was younger, my grandpa gave me this old Mauser. He was a gunsmith that used to build new rifles out of Mauser actions. Fast forward 2 decades, and my grandpa has since passed on. I have amassed a nice collection of weapons, but I never really thought too much about this old gun. Well, here I am with children of my own and I find myself wanting to restore this Mauser for elsentimental reasons. Through research, I'm fairly certain it's a M93 Spanish Short Mauser.
