There are many aspects to take into consideration when thinking about purchasing a folding e-bike at a very cheap price. You can purchase this type of folding e-bike from anywhere online. And of course, this could it be an investment for the long term? Are you able to find a reliable e-bike to commute on? Do you think it is robust? It is true that many people tend to ignore these elements since they're focused on price instated of quality. If they find something cheap and they are enticed to purchase it, this is not a good idea according to my experience. So, how do you make an informed purc ..read more

Peugeot Nouveau Folder

Hey all, got recommended here from Reddit, was told you'd appreciate the bike and if I ever run into repair issues the forums would be the place to go. I believe it's either a 1977 or 1978 Peugeot Nouveau Folder. Rear wheel has a 77 stamped into it but the front had a 78. Not sure where else to look for identifying info. I've cleaned it up and ran new cables/housings, fixed the lighting system (cable break soldering, issues in the light housings, contact polishing, rebuilt the dynamo), fixed an issue with the shifter, and mostly have the brakes all fixed. Still need to clean up a lot of the c ..read more

I recently bought an early 80's Bridgestone Picnica on impulse. It's a fun little ride. Hardly the most compact when folded, but it does the job.   3xDN8M8UQEiFNH3z5re7nA.jpg (Size: 91.62 KB / Downloads: 22 ..read more

I am a picker and just picked up a bianchi folding bike and would like to sell locally if possible. The bike is bright green and is in very restorable shape. The frame is free of corrosion and if I air the tires I'm sure she will roll. Just need to move her out, the man upstairs apparently chose me to rescue this one. Let me know if anyone has interest before I post her up on E-bay or craigslist. I can send additional pics and if you are close come over and take it for a ride if you are in Michigan! Thanks, Snow Monkey If someone on here collects bikes let me know I see many I leave behind but ..read more

hello. The other day my eye caught a couple with Dahon folding bikes. Apparently they were on a long tour judging by the full panniers on the sides of the carrier. So my question is- are folding bicycles any good for longer distance touring and travelling ..read more

hello, I would say that I am not the shortest guy in the town with 6'6'. I have been fascinated by folding bikes, and this year I should finally get one .. to quickly get around the city, be mobile and to have no worries with parking my bikey. However, not sure how they fit with such tower like me? Dahon has description with 196cm height limit, but is that really the limit? Possibly some models are more comfortable for tall people with long legs? if anyone here is slightly (or more) above average height and ride folding bike daily, please, share your experiences .. much appreciated ..read more

I'm new to bike repair and maintenance, and I'm using my Dahon Speed 7 as my guinea pig. So far I've managed to replace the rear wheel, remove the casette, replace the brake cable and adjust the derailleur. My next project is to remove and replace the bottom bracket. I understand I need some tools to do this, but I'm not sure which ones. So, can anyone tell me which of the following I need? Crank puller tool bottom bracket tool other miscellaneous tools Here are the specs to my bike: Dahon Speed 7 Specs Page ..read more

Folding bike headset question

Hi all Thanks for taking the time to read this. I just got my hands on a 2nd hand Dahon folding bike. There seems to be a little play in the headset but as this is my first folder I'm not sure if this is inherent in folders or not. Would anybody know if it is inherent and have any ideas on how to fix it? I have some experience of changing threadless headsets on mountain bikes but I'm not sure about folder headsets. Thanks again Best Ben ..read more
